Respect The Norn Stones (Complete Respect Thread? Idk)

Introduction

Norn Stones: no one knows where they came from or exactly how they work, but everyone wants them. In a sense, they essentially work as a magical plot device, being able to be written as doing anything at any time because of how vaguely defined they are as a object. The closest to a actual explanation was that they respond to the user's wishes, making them almost like a genie, but, erm, a bunch of rocks.

Here, I'm going to go through all of the recorded showings of the Norn Stones and go through what they've done over the years. Spoilers- they've done a lot.

Accelerated Healing

Scan 1/2- Heals up a major wound of Fandral's quickly despite the user (Volstagg) being completely inexperienced with magic (Warriors Three #2)

Heat Projection

A Norn Stone blazes bright enough to blind everyone around it (Thor #439)

Illness Curing

Cures Slf's mental illness brought upon by Mephisto (Thunderstrike #17)

Intangibility

Loki becomes intangible and walks through dangerous spikes by using the Stone to manipulate his molecular structure (Journey into Mystery #116)

Invisibility

Scan 1/2- The Stones make Slif and Balder invisible to the Destroyer (Thor #438)

Levitation

Loki floats out of danger from a laser (Journey into Mystery #116)

Magical Binding

Scan 1/2- Thor uses them to create a magical field which makes Loki and Fafnir incapable of moving or casting any spells. (Thor #318)

Magical Power

Balder takes out Karnilla by throwing the Norn Stones at her (Thor #455)

Mental Projection

Can project images from Earth while Thor and Loki are in a different dimension (Journey into Mystery #116)

Watches the Infinity Watch as well as Sliver Surfer without them noticing (Warlock Chronicles #7)

Physical Amping

Scan 1/2- One Norn Stone turns a random dude into being capable of catching dozens of bullets with his bare hands and sending soldiers flying with his strikes (Journey into Mystery #123)

Power Amping

The Norn Stones amp Hood's bullets to massive explosions (New Avengers #57)

Hood one shots multiple heroes (Justice, Gauntlet, etc) with his Norn empowered bullets (Avengers- The Initiative #33)

Hood one shots Tyr with a magical blast after he tries to steal the Norn Stones (Thor #608)

Hood uses the Stones to amp dozens of villains to the point that they aren't jobbers (New Avengers #61)

Corrupter amped by the Norn Stones is powerful enough to overpower Bucky Cap's willpower casually with his mind control (New Avengers #61)

Scan 1/2/3- Makes Spider-Man strong enough to fight off dozens of Asgardian warriors and even have a real working replica of Thor's hammer (even if Thor breaks it shortly afterwards) (Marvel Adventures-Spider-Man #40)

Scan 1/2/3- Loki uses the Norn Stones to amp dozens of heroes back to full health and gives them enough power to fight off Void Sentry and actually hurt him (even Captain America can do it) (Siege #4)

The Norn Stones make Man-Thing's powers far stronger, to the point that he could potentially burn the world down because every being knows fear, and normally those who know fear burn by Man-Thing's touch, but in this case his powers were increased to the point that any random source of fear in a being would cause them to combust into flames (Marvel Team-Up #4)

Turns Spider-Man's Spider Sense global, allowing him virtual omnipotence of danger and where it occurs, through this is too much for his mind (Marvel Team-Up #4)

Properties

The Norn Stones apparently function via magic, granting the wishes of the user of who they want to be (New Avengers #56)

Reanimation

Hood brings Hammerhead back to life using the Norn Stones. (Defenders #8)

Scan 1/2- The Norn Stones reanimate a bunch of stone statues who then fight Thor, through they don't do much (Thor #318)

Scan 1/2/3- Young Loki using the Norn Stones creates a snowman creature powerful enough to fight off Nightmare by eating him and then dumping him back in his home dimension (Loki #1)

Teleportation

Scan 1/2- Balder uses them to teleport from Asgard to Hel in a single bound (Thor #437)

Loki uses Norn Stones to transport himself and another dude from Asgard to Earth at tremendous speeds (Thor #318)

Slf teleports to Eric Masterson's location just by stating his name despite not knowing where he was (Thor #463)

Slf and Beta Ray Bill teleport to Thor's location just by thinking about Thor (Thor #461)

Transmutation

Loki turns hot lava into a solid surface (Journey into Mystery #116)

Conclusion

Norn Stones are basically the Asgardian equivalent to a Swiss Army Knife: most of the functions aren't ever gonna get used, but it's still useful to have around just in case. The Norn Stones are also quite powerful, being able to threaten Hell Lords and Teambusters respectively with their power. Not the best in terms of raw power, but, then again, it doesn't need to be.
