Best issue #1's in the new 52

I love a good issue 1. It's my favorite thing in comics because it get's me pumped to read the next issues and invested in the storylines it sets up. To me, there's nothing better, as far as comics go, then a great issue 1. So with that in mind i decided to make a list chronicling my favorite issue #1's that came out of the new 52.

List items

  • I'm not a fan of Geoff Johns by any means, but this, in my opinion, was an exquisitely executed issue 1. It did everything an issue 1 is supposed to do and the art, while certainly not Finch's best, was a treat. In addition, the timing of this was very well done, this happened just after throne of Atlantis and after Superman and Wonderwoman first got together so this book felt very organic and that timing made this feel like I was watching the living, breathing DCU unfold before my eyes. Well done here.

  • This issue was a blast to read. It was a wonderful love letter to the golden age and the t-shirt, jeans and work boots just oozed fun off the page. Also, this bok has my favorite Superman cover.

  • This book was everything I wanted and more from the first issue of this highly anticipated series. No budget action and great characterization. This book really feels like a story being told rather than just random vehicles taking me to the next scene.

  • This issue was a lot of fun to read and opened up a great story of new 52 Diana. I remember reading this and my face getting closer and closer to the book. That's how interesting it is.

  • This was the most exciting and alive issue 1 in the entire new 52. I had never read a flash book before this and now I'm a huge fan. Anything buccaleto and manapul work on turns out amazing.

  • I love the sci-fi feel of this book. I fell in love with Kara in these 22 pages.
