About poohbear7882

Okay, let me start by saying that I DO NOT blog.  I've never really understood the point in it.  Why would other people give a crap what I have to say or what I think?  Well, I've decided that I don't care who wants to know.  I'm going to give it a shot anyways.  That being said, I have no idea where to start off.  I've read blogs, loads of them.  But, now that I'm actually thinking about it...I've never read the "First" one.  I've started reading them once someone else has said something like "Hey, you should read this Blog."

How do they start?  Sure, I could go look, but...I just didn't get enough sleep for that.  So I'm just going to dive right in and start.  The way I see it, nobody is going to read the "First" anyways, so who cares what it says.  Or at least that's my theory.  Don't go proving me wrong, now...If you're here, just stop reading and come back some other time.  Thank you in advance.

I'll start with the very basics.  I'm a 27 (nearly 28...shhh) year old writer (not of comic books) of mostly fantasy stories.  You know, ogres, trolls, gnomes and such.  I occasionally dabble in poetry, but not much anymore.   I've been a gamer since...well, since before I can remember.  I started playing video games in *cough* 1985. *cough*  Atari!  Man, those were the days!  I've played a Commodore 64...I have employees who consider themselves gamers that have never even heard of a Commodore.  I've upgraded since the '80's and now game on a 360 and a PS3.

I've read comic books twice...not so say that I've read two comic books.  I read comics as a kid, but...well, long story short:  a boy came along who didn't read comic books, I fell "in love" and stopped reading them.  Oddly, I never did go back to comics after we split.  6 years later, enter new boy with comic books!  My comic book addiction is back in full force.

When I was a kid, I read Superman and X-Men only.  I read a few Batman comics, but for the most part I never ventured outside of Superman and X-Men.  That's what my group read, that's what I read.   My parents best friend would pick up cheap comics in the worst condition from the 70's at a flea market for a quarter just so I could read them.  I had dozens upon dozens of them.  You don't want to know what happened to my collection; it's too depressing.

I actually still remember the first comic book I ever bought:  Superman:  The Man of Steel # 37.  Which I've bought again.

Now, I read Superman (Superman, Action Comics) and X-Men (Wolverine, Daken: Dark Wolverine, X-23, Uncanny), The Walking Dead, Invincible.  I only started reading comics again about 3 months ago; I've completely caught up with The Walking Dead and am working on Invincible now.  I've started reading The Flash (2010) Legion of Super-Heroes (2010), Batman Incorporated.  I'm about to explore Ultimate and Amazing Spider-Man once the next issue comes out.
