Captain takes this with medium difficulty at most. Anderson is strong but he couldn't deal with a serious base Alucard, who I would put slightly below the Captain. And let's not forget Anderson is specifically equiped to deal with vampires and to exploit their weaknesses. There is no indication The Captain has any of their weaknesses, besides silver.
I think you meant to say that base Anderson COULD deal with a serious base Alucard because Anderson "killed" him in their first fight despite Alucard trying to kill him with Casull. That's why Alucard needed a new weapon.
Anderson has LOTS of silver..... this guy isn't running low on them anytime soon lol (altho Cap can turn to mist)
He then gets a huge stat boost when he imbues the Nail, overwhelming Alucard with his speed and becoming a monster like him that kills monsters.
Curiously in an interview with Kouta Hirano in the Hellsing official Guidebook, he says that Anderson is stronger than the Captain:

If Anderson wasn't here, it wouldn't have become an organization where the thirteenth division would oppose to the Hellsing Organization. Every character was too weak. I thought about a character that could go against Alucard, and decided to create Anderson. When you look at it from that perspective, there isn't a character that could go against the Alucard in Millennium. I thought about putting the captain in that position, but he isn't strong enough. Even if the captain joined the battle between Alucard and Anderson, I don't think he would win. Even though the Millennium is the central evil organization, they aren't strong enough to fight Alucard.
