Hope none of you have forgotten how Zod was trying to murder that innocent family with very young children? What would I have done in Superman's place Grant? I would have made the moral decision too break his neck. Save the poor innocent family or let them fry at hands of the Zod? Quite honestly, I don't see a moral conundrum there.

The number of ways out of that situation in the movie were glaring and obvious though.

I've been wondering what he thought and i agree with him, i loved mos but grant brings up good points, not only concerning the movie but comics and superheroes as a whole. During the superman 75 panel at sdcc a question was asked why is superman getting darker and grant answered which i thought was perfect is that he reflects the state of society at that given time, so Superman is becoming darker and ppl want him to kill even where batman's concerned wanting him to kill the joker n stuff because a majority of today's society demands that and to me at least, i find that really sad.

And ill say it again,Grant Morrison said it in not so many words...give us more superman, then bring on a team up. the dark knight quality superman sequel with Lex as the enemy,ah well that's just a dream now.

Here it is! Comic Book Superheroes Unmasked.

I agree. That reflecting society thing remind me of a documentary of Superheroes from the History Channel narrated by Keith David. It was awesome.

I do. I miss when everything wasn't gloom and doom. I don't, however, miss Superman being a god.

1. Agreed.

2. Eh...disagreed to an extent.

The one thing I keep in mind is that one day technology will reach out to create suits of armor like Iron Man's and he won't be so... Unique anymore.

Pfff....HA! This is rich in naivete and lack of sense of scale.

Bond is more well-known than Superman in UK.

Batman is the most well-known of all due to Adam West and Only Fools and Horses over here.

1. You gonna prove that ludicrous statement.

2. I don't get it.

@turoksonofstone: I'll admit all my ideas couldnuse some polish and I do plan on sitting down one day after I finish writing my own creation I'm currently working on and then ironing out the details of how I would write charcters in both the dc and the marvel universes. But I have to disagree with your point about writing powerful characters becoming silly. Like my grandmother used to say "where there is a will there is a way" if writers put in the time and the thought and the effort into writing powerful characters it wouldn't be so silly. But I'm a guy with a million ideas for everything so maybe that's just the way I am lol

Hey, have you seen my Monkey King Thread?

@perezite: Well he wouldn't have to move light speed for him to make it to the other side of the earth to stop a villain. And whenever he had to go a dangerous speed I would have him go into the stratosphere like he does in the films. Fly to the other side o the planet then swoop down. Oh I would have supes himself say it. And flash would be able

To move thousands of times faster than light because of the speed force. I would

Limit supermans speed and power on earth for the sake of him not destroying it and I'd have superman have more fights innouter dove so that he could use some modicum of his true power. And yes you are right for example. I've Always had this idea for livewire in particular that she would be able to control all electricity including supes' bioelectric aura that produces his invulnerability. So he'd still have his powers but he'd be vulnerable while fighting her so he'd have to use different strategies to beat her. but back on topic about his speed: say he was fighting doomsday, while doomsday is supermans superior when it comes to strength superman is millions of times faster than he is. But superman can't use that speed on earth for fear of destroying it. Just imagine supes and doomsday breaking the sound barrier and creating sonic booms with the swings of their fists. Sk supes would have to figure out wys to defeat doomsday without going right at him. For example he could use his stay vision in tandem with his heat vision and use it to put doomsday in a coma. Thus not killing him, subduing him, and keeping him from adapting while in battle. Those are just a few ideas I ha scribbled in my notepad in my phone. What do you think?

Decent enough, but I was getting at more of the DCAU's ability to keep focus with their stories unlike a lot of comics, tell decent to good to great stories, also unlike a lot of comics, to have interesting and likable characters who drive the story, also unlike a lot of comics, to tell a lot within a limited window, also unlike a lot of comics, to not just be about the powers and find a good balance between action and character, also unlike a lot of comics, and to this all with a high consistency of quality, also unlike a lot of comics.
