That looked depressingly lame. I'm already ready for this to suck as bad as Batman v Superman. Does the entire movie take place at night? I really don't like to negatively judge a movie based entirely on its trailer, but my god. Have they seen other superheroes movies?
I like Syd, but I agree that she's too similar to Rogue in powers/touching, and hopefully she'll become more different as we learn more about her powers.
I immediately thought it was Mojo too, but the Shadow King is a good idea.
I'm enjoying the show a lot. David is great, he's so different from in Downton Abbey (where he was also good).
Hopefully I feel the same way, the 2nd arc was kind of a letdown. It started well but it went on for too many issues.
Yeah I agree 100%, it's an arc that could have been done in two issues. I read this issue already, and I can safely say that it moves the plot along, while revealing Marc's past. It's a much more satisfying read than that middle arc.
I also agree. There was nothing really at stake in that arc. It was fun to have different art for each personality, but it was pretty obvious that it was all basically imaginary/in his head/however you want to describe it, and so it didn't matter what happened to any of the personalities.
This new story, on the other hand, is already much better.
Interesting. I tended to receive the promotion of this book as a sort of out-of-character approach to Jen, and as a way to have someone else take over the main Hulk's shoes for gender diversity purposes--which on the one hand is something I generally approve of, but on the other hand didn't seem necessary because She-Hulk has been a pretty prominent female version of the Hulk for decades now, with multiple solo series as well as roles on major teams from the FF to the Avengers. Basically I didn't see the need for her to be "Hulk" when she's already staked out a very specific, non-derivative identity as "She-Hulk." Spider-Woman is another good example of this; there are various Spider-Women/Girls, but Jessica Drew in particular has been around for decades, and has built her own history and personality that have nothing to do with Peter. I wouldn't want to see her supplant Peter in the main spider-title as Jen seems to have done here. This is different from the way that there have been multiple, say, Captain Americas and Thors over the decades, but with appreciably less diversity and independence from the originals than the alternative Hulk/Spider-folks. So in their cases, the new Cap/Thors seem to have more value in terms of temporarily supplanting the originals. Which is all to say, it seemed weird to me that they gave her this Hulk book. But, I can agree with the review that Jen has been through a lot recently, and it may be the kind of experiences that draws her closer to the classic, angry hulk than her historically happy go lucky hulk. So, I may have to take a look after all if they really use that background as a spur for the new direction.
Don't know if they will be the main villains, but I see Mysterio and Scorpion in the future. There's also Carnage, Hobgoblin, Mr Negative, Tombstone and Morbius
Don't know how they're going to make Carnage work. Seeing as he's strictly non PG......at least when portrayed honestly.
There's also been the Rhino at the end of Amazing 2. I'd like Kraven, but they'd have to do a revamp on the costume. And of course there's Kingpin, but not with Spidey.
Wait, so first I was excited to see Ganke, even playing with Legos like he does. Then I think, what, they're stealing from from Miles? Then I think, wait, but Donald Glover, maybe he really will be Miles and this is a set up for that. Then I hear, that kid isn't Ganke, he's freaking Ned Leeds? What the helly hell?
Also, so that girl is Liz Allen? I'm actually glad they are going with option number three instead of MJ or Gwen.
I think some of the best parts of the trailer, objectively speaking, were the Tony Stark parts. They just had more humor, and as other have pointed out, a lot of the movie is actually by this time retreads of the many Spidey movie/comics standard beats. At least the Tony Stark stuff is new. I doubt he'll be in it much.
I preferred the international trailer. It is interesting how the tone is different even in similar scenes. The Shocker is in there, looks like another guy in normal clothes with an overly fancy tech-arm. I'd rather him be in a standard costume. Same goes for the Vulture--I'm kind of tired of exo-suits.
But, while I liked the Garfield version, I do like this kid too, so it will be fun to watch. It's ginning up to be a great comic book movie year.
