Probably Mantis, but either her or Moondragon would be great.

I was already excited for this, but this trailer shows that they're really doing the comics justice, and basically it just looks really F$%^ing amazing!

Can someone spoil part of the issue for me? The cover features Porcupine (Who I'm a big fan of) among the villains there, but I know he's currently trying to be a hero in the new Spiderwoman series. Did they already have him revert to crime, was he hired by Scott, or is he just on the cover for no other reason than to look nice? (Especially confused since that costume is not what he currently is wearing) I would be very grateful if someone could let me in on what (if anything) occurred with him

I haven't read much Scott Lang before--mostly just in Alias and Young Avengers, and a bit of the Future Foundation, where he's more of a side character and not as silly as he was presented here. I felt like the way he acted here was a bit more like Eric O'Grady than the Lang I've seen before. He's been around for a long time, I felt like they were making him out to be more of a newbie than he really is.

BUT, I suspect that's just part of the Superior-Foes-style semi-revisionist treatment, and I'm fine with that as long as it pays off with humor. I'm looking forward to the rest of this series.

Scott was, in many ways, the model for Eric O'Grady. I've followed his entire career. he was always kind of immature (Stark caught him goofing off more than once) and impulsive. he's basically a smarter 80s-censored Eric. Scott missing out on parts of Cassie's life (and her being annoyed by it) is something that has been shown before. of all the recent Ant-Man writers, Spencer has been the most faithful to how Scott was originally portrayed; imo.

Thanks, good to have that context.

Wait...... Captain Cold froze laser beams? You can't do that.

Yeah, that was a real suspend my disbelief moment for me too. Here's the still totally illogical way I tried to explain it to keep me from getting too annoyed about it. Perhaps the lasers in some way attracted the dust in the air, because not only do they focus light but they also focus the other ambient particles in the room somehow to fall along the path of the beam. So he didn't freeze the light, he froze the dust that was sitting in the path of the light?

Agh. Even writing that hurt my imagination.

But it was a good episode. Much better to see Cisco mack on the ladies than get all emo about having his own powers like last week.

Porcupine is not in this issue. I have also been reading Spider-Woman, and was wondering how they would deal with him as well. Actually Girl-Beetle isn't in it either.

I loved this issue. The Hench app was awesome. It was a great follow-up to the amazing Superior Foes of Spider-Man, written in essentially the same tongue-in-cheek style, with Scott standing in for Boomerang as a hapless protagonist. It is just a little more "straight," meaning that this takes Scott's family life much more seriously than Superior Foes took Boomerang's relationships--although part of the genius of that book was that it did actually make Boomerang's relationship with the bartender feel real and even somewhat poignant by the end.

It did also remind me of the Spider-Woman title as well. Hopefully we'll see more of the Beetle and Porcupine from both series (and hopefully it will take Porcupine's recent character evolution into account, which I am guessing it will).

The Sons of the Serpent were also a big arc in Daredevil recently (the last arc of the previous volume), and are basically what prompted him to move to the west coast. Seems weird to skip since that's their immediately previous appearance.

But honestly I do think that what's at the bottom of the SotS is essentially what's at the bottom of the anti-immigration movement currently in the US. Fear, and the need to blame one's own problems on the "other."

Yeah, I think that if Barry is going to switch to murdering, the characters should at least mention it aloud: "OK, killing is cool now. Not for Arrow, the ex-assassin guy, but for Barry, the emo police employee."

So are we assuming that Wells is the same Wells, having somehow traveled into a different universe, or it is a different one?

Also, I thought it was pretty funny that Barry was all unable to trust Jay, but had no problem trusting Patty Spivot, who kind of suspiciously started showing up in all the crime scenes knowing what happened (or at least that's what it seemed like for a while). Apparently babe=trustworthy.

First, that's awesome.

Second, we are getting to the frustrating point where it is simply not going to be possible to watch all the comic book TV that we want, because there are not enough free hours in the day!
