Top 50 favourites batman's villains

Batman universe got the best villains... Gangsters, mad men, terrorists, monsters, when it's not all that together. So let's make a top fifty of what I think are the best Batman's opponents !

List items

  • Because all his ideas about masks and identity are very intersting, because he's the best "old school" gangster, because he's the perfect anti-Bruce Wayne, because he's a complete monster and because he could be the most tragic character if writters work seriously on it and reminds that at origin, he was just a young man who want to be a stronger personn to face the world.

  • So good to see a villain who accept proudly his villainess and make fun about it ! Hope to see him more.

  • How a strong, treacherous, higly intelligent megalomaniac womanizer with daddy issues could be popular ? By being also completely mad and name himself "Emperor Penguin". Deal with it.

  • What's truly interesting with him is how all he wanted to be was a big gangster king... and how he finally became a cannibalistic beast. Maybe one day he'll finally learn again how to be human.

  • The Joker can be the greatest of all... with good writter. Too many times, it's just the old "it's-Joker-so-it's-good" thing. But when somebody remember why he is the archennemy of the dark knight... Well, it's show time !

  • Sexy ecologist redhead with superpower. Hard to resist.

  • Immortal, excellent fighter, talented in everything, cultivated, idealist... So bad he's also a mass murderer.

  • He's always surprising. Yeah, his origins sucks, but if you forget why he's fighting Batman, the way he does is really enjoyable. Surgeon, schemer, shooter, crazy : more than enough to be a good bad guy.

  • A message of hope for all the short plump dandy who love bird : they can became crime lord and strangely never be killed by other villains.

  • A symbolic villain of the batman universe, so good as crime lord that as mad inmate.

  • Oldies but goodies. Good concept, good origines, good design. All good.

  • However you write it, a mad psychiatrist is always a good idea.

  • Creepy and pathetic in the same time.

  • The last godfather of Gotham, and maybe father of Catwoman. Classy, quiet, clever, the fall of his empire is a pleasure to read.

  • I feel bad for this poor guy. Not only he exit his evil side in an object who take over him completely, but worst, it's a f*** puppet. Talk about dignity.

  • His work during Knightfall was really cool, but after that, the writters doesn't really succeeded to find him a motivation, so he seems to be kind of lost in town. Still a great and powerful opponent.

  • The proof that a sidekick can actually be a good thing.

  • The best about him was probably the way he became a nostalgic character. Here since the beginning, still here. Maybe as a square, but still here.

  • Don't know what of compassion or repulsion we should feel for this guy. Still amazing

  • His story is so sad that's difficult to remember how pretentious murderer sociopath he is.

  • Somebody else feel a little bad for this guy ? All he want is to be Joker 2, and everybody make fun of him. Sorry dude, you should chose your nickname better.

  • So funny I can't place him lower.

  • The concept is not the most original of the century, but the character is still considerable, especially by his backstory.

  • Most of the villain who make horrible things for what they think is good think " end justifes the means". Not him, he don't even realize he's doing bad things. Nearly cute.

  • Yerk. Weird costume, sadistic activities, scary character. But we need true psychopath like him.

  • Just for the "hannibal Lecter of day" side.

  • When he'll rise an army of Gotham's rats, those who said he sucks better apologize.

  • He like burning things. Not a lot more to say.

  • The poor Bruce could have every girl he want. Instead, he date the daughter of the leader of an assassin cult. Nice.

  • So random than nobody really know who they are, but still... I'm kind of attached.

  • This character is really well-thought and scary.

  • Cool idea, but it's always hard to give a motivation to this kind of involontary villain.

  • I suppose every universe must have his serial-killer with gimmick. Here is the DC one.

  • He's kind of an answer from "common" gangster against supervillains.

  • Maybe a little too much to be among the best, but still... Badass.

  • Everybody love corrupt politician. No ?

  • Maybe he got only one catchphrase. But it's a good one.

  • The creator of Two Face deserved a place among the fifty.

  • A character with so many version of himself can't be bad.

  • You'll see, she'll have a true reason to be here. Other than the bunny-suit. Probably...

  • Unreliable businessmen are good too.

  • He must be brave to wear this costum.

  • Magpie : obssessed of shiny thing and revenge on her hairdresser.

  • Gotham is probably the only city where criminals are clown, crocodile-man and... Carpenter ?

  • He's just too much to be real. That's good.

  • She got an orgasm in a freaking kid TV show ! How could I ignore her ?!

  • The look "medieval-plague" is very "in" this summer.

  • "Save us from Willie".

  • I suppose somebody must put the society in question, even when the city is under perpetual terrorist attack.

  • As Deathstroke, she's a little bit too god-like to be really interesting but still... She got style.
