This book keeps getting jipped in the art department. A roster of this magnitude deserves better art. I really hope this distorted caricature style dies out before other artists adopt it. It really takes away the immersion when the protagonists are torso's with spaghetti limbs.
Also, prior to Soule the Punisher has been handled terribly. All around Punisher fans have been left in the dirt since Marvel NOW. There's a pretty big fan base to fill there and it just isn't happening with this title.
I'm not a fan of the art either. The story has been great so far. I'm hanging on for the new artist.
Am I the only person who doesn't care for this show? It's not bad, It's just isn't for me........ It feels like they made a Marvel TV show and took out all the Marvel Comics....... I want S.H.I.E.L.D. uniforms, I want bee keeper A.I.M. henchmen, I want D-list characters..... Looking at you Stilt-Man!
^THIS^ I'm hoping that Phil will wear a SHIELD uniform soon, I'm tired of seeing him in a suit. It felt out of place watching him in the Jungle in a suit. He's better portrayed on Ultimate Spider-man and actually kicks ass.
I hope that AIM or Hydra show up at some point. I'm tired of the people of color as the "villains of the week." Typical Josh Whedon show that's whitewashed. Agent Ward is bland, predictable, and a clone of Angel (Buffy the Vampire Slayer). He will be making out with Skye at some point. Which is a clone of Faith (Buffy the Vampire Slayer).
here's to hoping Barberi's art improves is better than what I'm used to seeing in Thunderbolts.
^THIS^ I thought Phil Noto did a great job on Thunderbolts. Jefte Palo's art looks like stick figures. His best work was on Black Panther was great. His art now, everything is rushed with no attention to detail.
Carlos Barberi worked on Deadpool and he's doing the Thunderbolts Annual, it looks awesome! XD
@vandinejd_1991: I guess that I'm in the minority? I actually like that this show is different from what has been done in previous shows. I hated the preview art that showed Alfred holding two machine guns. I watched the show and instantly fell in love. Katana is fantastic and Alfred as an ex-MI6 Jamed Bond type mentoring Batman is brilliant IMO.
I thought that Professor Pyg would be ridiculous, but it was actually a great character and the voice actors are spot-on.
I'm hoping that this is a re-launch of Thunderbolts. Charles Soule is doing a fantastic job on the writing but other than Phil Noto's great work, the art has been terrible.
This show is awesome! Silver Monkey, Magpie, Professor Pyg, Metamorpho, Katana, and Lady Shiva. I'm glad that they are using lesser known characters than the usual Joker, Catwoman and Riddler.
