Son of a Valkyrie
Sigrid's appearance is the only human thing about him - his vastly superior physical abilities are contributed due to his dominant Valkyrie genes. Even though Sigrid is not a full-blooded Asgardian, he very much displays their superhuman attributes. Sigrid's strength is easily sufficient enough to battle any creature in the Nine Realms and even allows him to hold his own against more developed Asgardian warriors, including the Valkyrie. Similarly, his speed, reflexes, agility and coordination are on a superhuman level as well.
However, the most impressive of his native abilities is his durability and regenerative capabilities. Although the durability of Asgardians tend to vary, Valkyrie's tend to have durability on the higher end, second only to the most powerful of God's like Thor, Tyr and Odin. Because of this, Sigrid is practically immune to all human weaponry, unless it is magical in nature, incredibly advanced technology or wielded by a being of substantial superhuman strength. His internal anatomy shares many similarities to a human, but presents enough significant differences that render human doctors nearly unable to aid him if he were to need help. For example, his bones, skin, and tissues are all substantially more dense than any human being.
Uru Tattoo's
Uru the metal ore unique to Nidavellir which is known for its ability to store energy, particularly magic. There are two types of Uru; the one bonded to Sigrid is the metallic gold kind which was used in the forging of Odin's Gungnir as well as Stormbreaker. Uru, in either of its forms is non-sparking, very resistant damage (even more so when enchanted) and is highly immalleable which requires high temperatures to forge it properly.
The Dwarves of Nidavellir, master and primary forgers of Uru sought to weaponize the metal in a completely different way. Due to its symbiotic nature between Uru weapons and the user, the Dwarves wanted to physically bind the two - weapon and user. However, the immalleable nature had made this process seemingly impossible for years.
Uru required constantly high temperatures once liquefied to remain in that state. Being a partial liquid was deemed essential for their plans. Besides Nidavellir itself, there were few things capable of actually melting Uru - keeping it liquid was a little easier and required some what less heat than the initial melting process. Then, the idea came to them.
The Dwarves ventured secretly to Musphelheim - the realm of the Fire Giants. They managed to capture a Fire Giant, in which on their return to Nidavellir, converted the Fire Giants very being into a living magical entity, which was immediately introduced to the liquid Uru in much the same way any enchantment would. Upon removal of the heat from Nidavellir, they found the metal remained a liquid - albeit a more slightly thicker liquid. They thus deemed this step a success.
Because of the secretive nature of the project, the Dwarves wanted to keep the "details" away from the ears of the Asgardians. They wanted the weapon, but they would surely would look very negatively upon the Dwarves use of a Fire Giant to achieve their needs. However, these plans went astray when a lone Valkyrie, sent by Odin himself to check on the project status had overheard the true nature of the project. The Dwarves did not want Odin informed of what they had done and planned to kill the Valkyrie.
