I'll cut to the chase. I'm an aspiring comic writer and have been working on a pitch to submit to Dynamite Comics and other companies that allow creator-owned properties.
I've been working with an artist (Scott DM Simmons) who has provide an AMAZING representation of one of my heroes in the comic.
The Black Rook never looked cooler.
I love how the belt and rivets on his shield looks.
Oh, the comic. Okay, the premise is that in the 1950s INTERPOL has a subsection of costumed mystery men working for them in not only an investigative & law enforcement capacity but counter-espionage as well. Lots of Cold War, Atomic Age, retro-futuristic, Sci-Fi, Spy-Fi action. The Silver Age but with Bronze Age action & sensibilities.
Scott and I working on a presentation which I came up with. I will make a Power Point "dossier" briefly explaining the history of the INTERPOL heroes and what this group will do. Then using his sketches, I will make hardcopy to submit in file folders, making it look all official and the like. The feedback on these characters have been overwhelmingly supportive and positive and I think I'm onto something here.
Here is pencil sketch of another hero, the Red Phantom. I cannot wait to see how he turns out inked.
