Officially, the loser is the one who says "uncle" first. Taking your basketball exemple, the team that would leave the court will lose, even if there were no goals scored yet - and in fact they would lose even if they were leading on the scoreboard.

Well, that's the problem: "eventually". "Eventually" works in the Hulk's favour.

The Hulk: He starts out stronger, tougher, and he gets stronger and tougher as the fight goes on, while Zod will be depleted. Zod cannot hurt the Hulk, as he couldn't hurt Supes neither, and by feat the Hulk strikes harder than a thrown train engine.

@cable_extreme: Morality has nothing to do with it - it was a war that was lost on the home front and yes, in that protestation morality was a high point. But during operations out there morality has never restrained anything, as in any war.

On the terrain, in spite of their sensible military advantage, the US was still fighting WWII-style (as it does today, BTW) against a anonymous resistance movement that was practicing covert guerilla, asymetric warfare, and that's another reason why they lost.

That's because the Hulk is dynamic - his strength and durability goes up as the fight goes on. But at base value, the Abomination is stronger, tougher than the Hulk - that's his tag line. And that is strong enough to ignore WW's attacks, and to seriously degrade her when getting hit.

This particular heavy hitter is arguably stronger than the Hulk.

@cable_extreme: We weren’t defeated, we just pulled out because the war was with rebellious citizens that were impossible to identify and distinguish from the general population. We aren’t a dictatorship that would kill everyone so our only choice was to say “$&@“ you guys, I’m going home”.

Of course, in the case of an occupation, the resistance doesn't wear uniforms, apart for the occasional armband or hat if they ever fight on an open battlefield, in an actual battle.

Yes, the US lost the Vetnam war on the home front, but what they lost was more than their goals in it: It was the world's perception that they were the "white hats", even though they've committed atrocities before (like every army).

I just have to make a comment on KA's video; What a strange choice of weapon, a buckler, to face someone with a spear; Even a knife would have been better. Maybe they wanted to reproduce the classical Myrmidion vs Velite gladiatorial fights of antiquity, but a trident is easier to block with a buckler than a spear. The trick here for the sword-weilding myrmidion, is to "go inside" the velite's spear, while being careful of the later's net, which was often used in a defensive manner.
