It's like when people complained about the voice of Wonder Woman in DCU Online. I can understand some misgivings about casting someone of different race to play a character in live action role. But someone doing the voice of character it's more about the talent of the performer.
It's not about Marvel, DC or even which studio owns it. But when it comes to comic based films I want them to succeed. FF is a great concept that has yet to have a truly "fantastic" film. The first official film was a good attempt but it wasn't perfect. Special effects and budgets are able to cover a lot of stories and characters that couldn't have been done a decade ago. Comic based films don't necessarily have to be an action comedy but it doesn't have to dark and confusing either. Marvel makes it films to try to appeal to masses. Not just the fans but those who might a intro to something amazing. You can't please everyone but apparently this film can't satisfy anyone. So I'll save my time and money.
I can't judge since I haven't heard every performer but I will say I've enjoyed all the ones I have heard. Mark Hamill seems to set the standard by which all are judged by. I've never heard anyone say he's not the best voice of the Joker. I like Troy Baker other voice work but the way he mimics Hamill's Joker is uncanny. It's not matching it but also still be able to perform so well while doing it. Dimaggio brought something different he kept his tone but the crazy and some great lines. Kevin Michael Richardson was excellent he sounded like he was having fun reading lines. I would either be creeped out or laugh along with him. Richard Epcar I actually didn't like him MK vs DC but when he did Injustice I really liked what he did. Played with the Joker more just to hear his lines. Emerson's performance really brought the DKR Joker to life from the pages of book. His calm demeanor in voice before actually confronting Batman then you heard the crazy.( Calm joker scares me more). Spiner got flack from fans of YJ for his take but it was fine. I've never been disappointed whenever he does a VO in a cartoon. Now Jeff Bennett in Brave and Bold actually took me longer to like. I've heard him perform before but after I found it fit the look and overall tone of show. He was his own Joker like all the performers are.
Saw it last night I agree with G-Man review. Definitely worth watching. Great action and comedy and I got surprised by one of the supporting cast members(avoid to many commercials). Great performance by all there are laughs and action a plenty.
He would be great for the role. If they can make it happen and he's willing and able I say go for it. He's proved through his movie he's more than capable of pulling something as violent and sadistic as Bullseye.
There is but a lot of today's writer's don't know how to handle it well. I loved the fact that Storm and Black Panther got married. I accepted they met when they were younger(retcon). However after the Phoenix Five they were over. Seemed the shortest marriage I've ever seen Marvel do. Luke Cage got married it change his character I think it help define his character along with being a father.
