Have a higher opinion of (someone or something) than is deserved.

Comicvine's definition of overrated:

I don't like this movie/character/story/writer etc... and I think no one else should like them/him/her/it etc.. either and agree with me because for some reason my opinion is the only one that's right so i'm going to hide behind a posh sounding word so I don't seem like a bigoted a$$hole.
