@mage101: As far as I can see, no scan in this thread has even used the word “shared”. I did. Pulling up definitions for a word I used doesn’t really prove anything.
The point with Absorbing Man seems to be lost on you. He absorbs power or matter and it doesn’t get divided. When he absorbs power from Mjolnir, does the hammer get weaker or have “less Uru”? That right there is an example of comic book characters taking or “sharing” power, but it doesn’t diminish or devolve into fractions. It actually multiplies which makes no logical or mathematical sense. Same thing applies with Amazo or the Super Adaptoid. They just gain their copied energy without taking it away or subtracting it from the original user. Even with Rogue, how does it make sense that she drains power from Ms. Marvel so often that Rogue’s base stats become equal to hers? Without even dividing that clearly shared power?
Well it’s a cropped out of context scan. Kwannon and Betsy Braddock switched bodies/souls and then merged bodies through their minds; like I think it’s a bit more complicated than all of this. People present this like her powers were stolen away from her or something. I see no mention in handbook entries or comic book scans confirming that Psylocke’s telepathic power was weakened or “half” of what it was. People are just baselessly assuming that. In fact the one handbook entry I did find, said in detail, “Matsu'o Tsurayaba saw a chance to save his brain-dead lover, Kwannon, and had Spiral swap their souls. This inadvertently blended their minds, leaving each with the same memories and telepathic powers.” Notice how it says “the SAME telepathic powers” but no mention that Psylocke was weakened or the power was divided. It then goes on to say that Matsuo, when he kissed Psylocke and transferred some telepathic energy, only seemed to simply restore a piece of her soul while extracting Kwannon’s from Psylocke’s mind. “Learning she had the Legacy Virus, Revanche had Matsu'o kill her, after which Betsy regained her soul's missing piece.” I’m sure there’s more I could find and dig up, but the burden of proof is on you guys not me. This is clearly far more complicated than just “half her power was stolen and she was telepathically weaker”. Based on what? Real world logic and math problems applied to comic books?
