@ccraft: I watched it a couple months ago. I honestly don't remember any of it. I think I might have fell asleep. It's a shame too because there is potential for a really interesting and cool Turtles movie.
@punyparker: Oh all this. Yeah I've been reading this. It's a good thing honestly, at least on the movies side with Marvel Studios now answering directly to Disney. Ike is a moron and so are most of the people over at Marvel running things. Comic books and movies are two completely different mediums and should be treated that way. It's better for a company like Disney, who run several different film studios, to run a film studio of a company they own, not people who make comic books. The creator of "Spider-Man:The Animated Series" described the differences best.
If any of this effects the comic industry, then Marvel being petty. The same goes with the whole X-Men and Fantastic Four thing. It's all petty company nonsense that's alienating fans. These movies are bringing in fans (well maybe not FF but that's another story), and by shoving them aside because you didn't get your way is so stupid. Especially for a company that tries so hard to make their books like the movies. It's also why I don't get why everything has gotten so radically different and complex in comics these past 10 or so years. It's really hard to follow everything that's going on. What happened to simplicity. I mean a new comer walking into a comic store isn't going to know which book to pick up because there so many to choose from. I was at my local comic store helping someone out because they were confused. And even then they chose some really old school stuff.
Looks really cool. More excited for this than BvS just due to how different it is compared to what we've been seeing. Joker and Harley look awesome. Really interested in more of the Squad. Not to interested in Smith as Deadshot. I also don't like Jai Courtney at all, so Captain Boomerang isn't going to be so great either.
Cool we have an announcement on who's playing him. That said to me it's not that huge of a deal. Neither Marvel, or Sony to a point, have ever really cast someone that was absolutely wrong and terrible for the role. Most problems with these movies have really come from both studio interference, bad writing, and the fact that these movies are very formulaic. That's my biggest worry. Spider-Man is very a very different character than the characters in the MCU. He doesn't save the world and billions of people on a daily basis. His stories are very small and personal akin to Daredevil but in a very fantastical sense. It's what makes the first 2 Spider-Man movies so great. They focus on Peter's relationships with other characters, and while in Spider-Man 2's climax he had to save the city, Spider-Man's climax is just Spider-Man saving people on a bridge and a brutal fight with Green Goblin.
So I hope that they do a good job. Have no idea about Jon Watts, and haven't heard anything about writers.
Really enjoyed last nights episode, was a funny one. I absolutely love every scene with Barry and his father together or when Barry is talking about his dad. Those are always my favorite scenes, they're just so well done.
