New DC 52 Comics (are these comics any good?)

I need some help because I'm on the fence here. It's been 9 months since dc released 52 on it's titles and some were positive while others weren't that good or just okay-ish. I haven't bought most of these comics because there were too many of them for me to choose from and that some of them weren't interesting to me at the time. Lately, I've looked some interesting images and read some articles on some characters on their titles with crossovers and events. Now regretting it, I want to start getting into them but I don't know where to start.

Can anyone tell me if these titles are any good and worth reading? which one should I get? Give me your thoughts on them too? Thanks.

#!1 Action Comics - Only bought issue one

#2 Wonder Woman - Is she awesome here or not?

#3 Aquaman - Heard his a badass now

#4 Green Lantern w/ Sinestro -... Oh boy

#5 Red Lantern series - I want Hal as a RL

#6 The Flash - Only Bought issue one

#7 Superboy - Liked him in young justice cartoon, how is this series?

#8 Green Arrow - Never bought a GA comic in my life lol.

#9 Supergirl - same here with her lol

#10 Deathstroke - heard he's more brutal and Midnighter and Zealot had appeared in resent issues.

#11 Batwoman - I think I'm gonna like her more than Batgirl

#12 Batman and Robin - Scott Synder's run with Batman is great but how's this one?

#13 Red Hood and the Outlaws - I'm iffy on the series

#14 Captain Atom - was never into him before but how's his series?

#15 Batwing - bought first issue before dropping this. Is he better now?

#16 Birds of Prey - Liked Gail Simone's run but how's this one?

I have not read all the comics you are asking about, but I will give you my opinion on the ones I have read.

-Wonder Woman: This is the best Wonder Woman has ever been. Fantastic story, great characters and Cliff Chiang's art is amazing and fits the title perfectly, the guest artists I could live without.

- Green Arrow: The first story arc by J.T. Krul sucked, but Ann Nocenti has taken over writing duties since issue #7 and the title has really improved. I enjoy the story and the writing style, but I don't really dig the art. I think Nocenti has some big plans for Ollie and I can't wait to see what happens next.

-Batwoman: I really love this title. The creative team is really willing to experiment and try new things when it comes to story telling styles. And J.H. Williams III art is amazing. It's a lot different than all the other Batman titles and I highly recommend it.

@Nerd Of A Hero: Wonder Woman, and Aquaman are FANTASTIC.

Batwoman and Action Comics are very good, but they're not for everyone.

Green Lantern is fine, but eh.

Supergirl is pretty good.

Red Lanterns, Deathstroke, and Flash are awful.

Ok First off, Nice to meet you all New to the site.

Second, I work part-time at my local comic shop so have plenty of time to look at all these titles.

Third, I read and collect all these titles so here is my opinion on all of them, hope it helps some.

#!1 Action Comics - Own 1-10 The Dialogue a little long winded and the action is rather spaced out for my likeing.

#2 Wonder Woman - So far its been rather awesome but you better know a little greek mythology to realy follow along with characters such as Hades Zeus Hera Aphrodite Strife War Hermeus Poasiden and others as main characters and regularly mentioned, you may not know who they are or why they play such a big part in the story.

#3 Aquaman - Heard his a badass now - He is and its been a rather wild book its been awesome! and Mera has been outstanding even having a issue to herself which turned out awesome

#4 Green Lantern w/ Sinestro -... Oh boy - My thoughts exactly at first but actualy has not been that bad. Even though he seems to stop at nothing to destroy Hals chances with Carol LOL.

#5 Red Lantern series - I want Hal as a RL - Sadly no Hal as a RL (yet?) but we do have our first Human RL. BUT!!! (my opinion : For the Lanterns that are spose to embody RAGE they often come off rather whiney. Atrocitus has almost lost his rage and wonders why he bothers (bluh). So decent read but they come off rather whiney to me.

#6 The Flash - Only Bought issue one - Has been a decent read so far I fly through his issues!, Also you may have to pick up Stormwatch, Captain Atom,& Mr Terrific to figure out some things that are going on in Flash (trying not drop any Spoilers)

#7 Superboy - Liked him in young justice cartoon, how is this series? The Series has been pretty good I was a little late to getting this title not being much of a fan until he teamed up with the titans but Superboy, Teen Titans , Legion Lost, and the Ravagers are all part of one epic storyline called The Culling.

#8 Green Arrow - Never bought a GA comic in my life lol. Hes sortof like Batman/Ironman, Meaning he dosent have powers and uses gagets, The typical Billionair playboy trying to help the world. So if your a Batman/Ironman fan you may like this.

#9 Supergirl - Shes a female Superman so basicly all the same powers. However her story is based more around the fall of Krypton. (again trying not to drop spoilers sorry mate.)

#10 Deathstroke - heard he's more brutal and Midnighter and Zealot had appeared in resent issues. - I agree its been an awesome run full of alot of good fights and action with a fairly interesting story.

#11 Batwoman - I think I'm gonna like her more than Batgirl- Well her storys a bit darker than batgirls + Shes one of the first openly homosexual superheroins. thats right Lesbian Superheroin.

#12 Batman and Robin - Scott Synder's run with Batman is great but how's this one? Thisone is epic. Im a huge Batfan and the Robin-Batmna relationship seems to walk on a razorblade at times, before you realize the amount of respect they have for each other This title is also part of the Court of Owl Event spanning most of the Batman Inc. members. Definate read.

#13 Red Hood and the Outlaws - I'm iffy on the series. Its been fairly good it can be a little confusing if u dont know who Redhood, Arsenal, & Starfire are. (Since you said you havent read a Green Arrow comic Arsenal will be a new character for you) They also tie in with the Court of Owl Event that takes place in just about anything dealing with Batman

#14 Captain Atom - was never into him before but how's his series? This one I sadly can't offer any info on as I didn't give him much thought hes only mentioned in The Flash's early issues.

#15 Batwing - bought first issue before dropping this. Is he better now? MUCH!!!! His later issues are pretty good as he teams with the true Batman. Later joining up with the Justice Leauge International (so you'll have to pick up both titles to see all his adventures Healso deals with the Court of Owl Event that takes place in just about anything dealing with batman.

#16 Birds of Prey - Liked Gail Simone's run but how's this one? This runs been pretty good and also ties in with the Court of Owl run that takes place in just about anything dealing with batman.

I hope this helps get you a little excited and interested in picking up a few of these titles.

i for one, think that the Captain Atom series has potential. so, far....ok....but once, again, lots of potential. he kinda has a new firestormish/Dr.Manhattan/Solar, man of the atom vibe that i'm diggin on. Artwork is good, not a fan of the colorization technique....could be better.

Here's where I stand on what you've asked about....

  1. Action Comics--- Morrison's focus has always been on the "big idea", which, honestly, serves Superman pretty well. There's been some minor inconsistencies with the art, but, overall, this is a solid book that everyone should be reading.. Morrison likes to layer a lot of concepts into his writing, many of which don't start to really payoff for some time, but when that time comes, you'll find yourself re-reading his entire run just to come down from being blown away.
  2. Aquaman--- This is my favorite character of all time, so I have mixed feelings regarding some of the changes being made to the character. Definitely coloring my opinion at the moment. Trying to be objective, I will say that Johns is a proven writer, and the book consistently features solid artwork.
  3. Green Lantern---This is my second favorite character of all time. Despite the fact that absolutely nothing changed with the re-launch, it took me the better part of 6 months to settle into Johns' story. Now that I have, I'm greatly enjoying it. New readers may be put off by the slavish devotion to past continuity. I can't speak to that, as I'm not a new reader. I can follow the story line just fine.
  4. Red Lanterns--- This book just can't seem to get off the ground. I like the writer. I like the artist. There are some interesting ideas being fostered in the title, but it just isn't gripping me yet. Honestly, it feels like it's beginning to waffle about. I'll stay with it to the bitter end, but I can't really recommend it.
  5. The Flash--- all the imaginative panel layouts in the universe can't obscure the fact that, this book, like it's lead character, is monumentally boring. I'm in it strictly for the art.
  6. Green Arrow--- This has gone from a horrifically written title with amazing embellishments to a pretty good read with... passable illustration. Nocenti is a great writer who I believe can do great things with Green Arrow, but she is badly in need of an artist worthy of her words.
  7. Batwoman--- This book is beautiful. Why aren't you already picking it up?
  8. Captain Atom---This has been a frustrating experience. This title is moving at a glacial pace. I think.... think... that things are finally starting to happen, but the payoff is going to have to be game-changingly huge to justify this slow of a burn. Honestly, it will probably read better as a trade. That said, the monthly is desperately in need of readers.
  9. Batwing--- This book used to have phenomenal art. Now the artwork is pretty standard fare. I may drop it. This is another title that just took too long to establish itself. It does seem to, largely, be up and running now, so I'll probably hang on for, at least, another story arc. The loss of the original artist is a pretty big blow for me.

I'm not buying the other titles, so, I'm afraid I don't have an opinion to offer you on those. Hope this helps.

I think everyone should be reading Animal Man, Swamp Thing, Resurrection Man, Frankenstein Agent of SHADE, Aquaman, Action Comics, Earth 2, and Batman from N52. Also, JLDark looks promising starting with issue #9.

@Nerd Of A Hero:

1. Action comics- Action comics is a great book but Grant Morrison is writing so it is slightly confusing but if you can undersstand it it's a very enjoyable series.

2. Wonder Woman- This book is great but can sometimes be a bit weird with all of the Gods and magic.

3. Aquaman- Aquaman's a brilliant book, it's definetely changing the character a lot.

4. Green Lantern- a brilliant book, it has a lot of focus on Sinestro but it can be a bit strange at times. You should probably buy it from issue #1 to understand it a bit more.

5. Red Lanterns- Ver violent but if you can cope with it you might enjoy it but this book is quite repetitive.

6. The Flash- a truly excellent book, some changes to the character from before Flashpoint but tht's just the nature of the New 52. Definetely pick up this book.

7. Superboy- The character in this book is not much like the one in the Young Justice cartoon but he is a good character and Lobdell has done an excellent job on this book. The art is very good as well. For the first 9 issues you should probably read Legion Lost and Teen Titans as well because the three books tie into the Culling storyline.

8. Green Arrow- The first 6 issues of this book aren't excellent but they're okay. The new creative team has done a great job on this book but Grren Arrow isn't quite up to the standards of Batman or Justice League.

9. Supergirl- This book is quite confusing as well, butthat's just my opinion.

10. Deathstroke- The first few issues are quite violent and disturbing but I haven't read any of Liefield's run but I haven't heard many good reviews for it. I don't think that Midnighter was in this because he's a member of Stormwatch but as I've said, I haven't read this book recently.

11. Batwoman- A very interesting book but very dark at times.

12. Batman and Robin- This an amazing book with very good stories, it focuses quite a lot on the Father and son relationship between Bruce and Damian. Isue #10 has all of the Ex- Robins as well as Damian and Bruce which should be an excellent issue.

13. Red Hood and the Outlaws- This is quite a good book and I think that they'll develop Starfire's character a bit more. The Roy Harper in this book is pretty much the opposite of Roy in Young Justice.

14. Captain Atom- an interesting book but slightly strange.

15. Batwing- This book has gotten better than before.

16. Birds of prey- Quite a good book with many interesting characters. Poisin Ivy is portrayed very well in this series.

Hope that you enjoy the books!

i can give my opinions on the ones that i m reading or read:

1.Action Comics: is very good...

2.Wonder Woman: my second favourite book in the new 52 so far... next to earth 2

3.Aquaman: this is like really really awesome

4.Green Lantern w/ Sinestro: not very fun for me... but it is essential reading cz lots of things are being revealed in this series also... i buy all the lantern books because of the whole destruction of all the corps thing... also seems like this is leading to a big event with the guardians going on about the "third army"

5.Red Lanterns: most people don't like it.. but personally i am enjoying it... maybe coz the reds are my favourite lanterns also as i stated earlier.. i m following all the lantern books

6.The Flash: read only issue 1 so i think we rae on the same page here

7.Superboy: not very good , but neceassary to follow the teen titans and ravagers arc

8.Deathstroke: i wonder how i managed to read 8 issues...

9.Supergirl: the story is good but the pacing is a bit slow... still worth it i guess

10. Batman and Robin: read only issue 9 for the night of the owls arc... so cannot tell if its good or not.. but issue 9 was pretty good..

11.Batwoman: Pretty good..

12.Red Hood and the Outlaws: Awesome title ..i recommend it also the art is fantastic

13. Birds of Prey: very very good and i like the depiction of ivy

#11 Batwoman - I think I'm gonna like her more than Batgirl

I really like this character, but the story line is moving a little slow and Amy Reeder's art was pretty bad. Thankfully Amy is gone. The story telling can be a little confusing at time, but I'd recommend the latest issue.

#12 Batman and Robin - Scott Synder's run with Batman is great but how's this one?

This is my favorite batman book at this time. Sorry, I don't Capullo's art. Anyway the "Nobody" storyline was fairly long arc, but it made me appreciate Damian Wayne much more. I'd recommend every issue.

#13 Red Hood and the Outlaws - I'm iffy on the series

I dropped this book. The art is great, but Lobdell is dropping the ball with this title.

#14 Captain Atom - was never into him before but how's his series?

I think this comic is underrated. The art is unusual, but I really like it. I'd recommend reading the back issues to get caught up with the storyline.

@Nerd Of A Hero: First off, i love your avatar. Secondly @haydenclaireheroes: I dont agree about Batman & Robin

. Sure its not as deep of a epic narrative as Batman, but its pretty solid in terms of exploration of their relationship and a lot better that Detective or Dark Knight. Plus it'll get you your Damian fix. Personally I enjoy Action Comics, Batman & Robin, and Red Hood and i absolutely love Aquaman and Green Lantern. Friends of mine reccommend Wonder Woman, Batwoman (at least the first arc) and the Flash. Again, Id reccommend picking up Batman, Synder's run is phenomenal and really introspective.
