The fact of the matter is, for most cbm, all you can say was it was fun and entertaining. That doesn't cut it if you want to be one of the best of a 1000+ films made in any one year.
TDK was probably the best comic book movie to date still but was it better than Slumdog Millonaire? Come on now.
I've watched many of the Movies awarded and nominated for best picture, and I can tell you that TWS or TDK are both better than half of those films.
Its a matter of perception, not quality.
