Does Time Travel in comics naturally cause readers to be lost?

After doing my recent video of Professor Zoom, I'm fully convinced that time travel is one of the concepts within comics that successfully puts readers at a complete lost.

Unlike the original time travel story of a guy going back in time or somewhere in the future, for some reason comics take the time travel concept to a whole new level when we see certain heroes or villains go through a career of time hopping everywhere and completely changing history. Probably best example of this would probably be Professor Zoom who totally screwed with time for his own benefit and to torment Barry Allen (high 5 for villainy).

Despite how I tried to explain this guys history, it's baffling as to how hard it is to follow Professor Zoom's chronology accurately and most of all explain his history to an audience. If you watched the video and found yourself lost on following Professor Zoom then I apologize, but even if you have managed to follow a time traveling hero or villains chronology, one would have to admit it can be an extremely difficult concept to follow through. As in trying to explain how a council of Kangs began, how Professor Zoom was still a physical threat three times when he was already dead, how time travel connected several villains into being one man, even how Professor Zoom managed alter history within both the past and the future without destroying himself are questions that would probably send most people at a lost, worst is trying to explain it to somebody else after figuring it out.

But the primary question I have with this blog,... is time travel an ultimate killer for comics because of how difficult it is follow the concept or is a concept that just got way out of hand?

Why I believe that Blob isn't an underrated villain.

No Caption Provided

Doing these villain reviews and trying to accomplish my main goal of shedding some spotlight to those villains deemed underrated, mishandled, or looked upon as a villain nobody wouldn't want to waste anytime with when making any introduction within a comic, the Blob from the X-men series is actually one of the selected villains who do hold a career that I personally find interesting to where I actually believe him to be a very important villain within the Marvel Universe.

As I type this blog, I'm also referring to other villains who seem to hold similar status like the Blob, mostly using Blob as an example of an important villain within the Marvel Universe who holds a questionable franchise among the fanbase. Of course there are some positive points I've seen on this site and other websites when trying to explain somebody like the Blob, but mostly I would see a fanbase who could careless about the Blob seeing how he isn't your typical Dr Doom or Magneto related villain, just some B-List villain who has no admirable traits and only holds a career of being an obstacle for the X-men.

Even if Blob is one of the many characters who became a victim to bad writing when losing his mutant powers and that he's only good for being a living wall, there's a different character that I see within the Blob and why I would deem this underrated villain as one of Marvels greatest villains ever created.

The Ultimate Guide to the Joker

After so many attempts on trying to produce a Joker video review, I managed to finally come up with a two-part episode where I go inside the long history of the Joker, and as I try to define a villain that cannot be properly defined.

A requested video from my Youtube audience, I'm glad to see that I now have Joker added into my collection and watched by curious viewers. I really tried to give my best insight of one of the most beloved villains and I do hope I didn't fail on meeting anybody's expectations.

Upcoming Channel Badguy Episodes

While trying to expand my status across the wonderful world of the internet, Channel Badguy naturally receives a decent amount of requests on Youtube of giving viewers insight of their favorite villains or a villain they are curious about. But doing this Channel Badguy skit is better with an organized to-do list, which of course I'll be using Comicvine for,... until this account has more followers, then I'll have to think of something else.

But anyways here's my list of villains that I plan on doing and why.

  1. Ultron- Both a request and a villain that I truly want to do a review on.
  2. Black Manta- Never done an Aquaman villain yet and Black Manta is actually my first choice
  3. Bullseye (remake)- My first villain review, but now I like to go more inside of Marvel's most dangerous villain.
  4. Harleyquin- A fan favorite and a female villain who has one of the most interesting and successful careers.
  5. Blob or Toad- Always wanted to do a review on either mutant villain
  6. Brother Blood- My first choice for a Teen Titans villain who I'm personally curious about.
  7. Wrecker and the Wrecking Crew
  8. Black Mask- Had to drop my first one
  9. Lizard- Mostly doing this because of the upcoming Spiderman fILM

and for My A-list villain I plan on doing a review on Magneto.

Even though these villains are on my to-do list, it may change for various reasons. But please feel free for any requests.

Trying to understand the Joker

No Caption Provided

Doing a video review of comic characters are something quite fun when trying to understand their personality and why they do the things they do within comics. As for Batman and his colorful cast of psychotic villains has proved to be a lot of fun when trying to explain what makes somebody Scarecrow, the Riddler, and Bane very unique villains that have their own way of reaching out to an audience.

…. And then there’s the Joker

Ever since I started this Channel Badguy gig on Youtube, I had to drop about 3 videos of the Joker because of how trying to explain somebody like the Joker to an audience has proved to be quite difficult, in fact I believe it’s impossible. The last thing I want to do is give off the wrong information of one of the most famous villains of all time, but with somebody like the Joker there is no way of defining the villain.

Studying this guy, I’ve noticed how he sits on a history that’s multiple choice, a personality that changes to where it’s impossible to tell if he is actually sane or insane, or that he prefers Batman alive or dead. But I’ve come to realize that the only way to understand the Joker is from what you can only see. Only precise way of having any accurate way of explaining this guy is seeing him as a bad Joke that nobody understands but him and him alone.

A second post of where I go into the history of the Joker, this is a video of how I see somebody like the Joker and why I’m convinced that somebody like the Joker cannot be defined. Part 1 of 2 of my villain guide of the Joker, I hope you enjoy watching and please feel free for your idea or theory of the Joker.

The Villain Guide to Black Hand

He's was originally the C-List villain that barely got any recognition as both a thorn for Green Lantern and the Flash. As of now, Black Hand is currently remembered to be one DC's most darkest and disturbed men after the event known as Blackest Night where he became a universal threat within the DC universe

If you don't know a single thing about who Black Hand is or exactly what made him a special villain within DC comics, or just flat out curious, then checkout the 8th episode of Villain Guide where I take viewers into the dark and grim history of William Hand.

The Second Villain within the Avengers film.

The Alien Race that the Avengers may be fighting against within the film, the Annihilation Wave.
The Alien Race that the Avengers may be fighting against within the film, the Annihilation Wave.

By now everybody already knows that the primary villain within the upcoming Avengers film is Loki. But a lot of questions are quickly rising as to who/what the team of heroes are fighting against in the trailer. Most people claim it was the Skrulls, yet it's mentioned that it wasn’t Skrulls nor any Asgardian-related army of any kind.

But… there are very few people who are catching onto how Loki’s army strongly resembles an insectoid race,….which strongly results with the possibility that we would be seeing something of an Annihilation Wave in this film.

It’s also seen that Loki has something of an object with him that’s possibly another valuable object within the Marvel Universe known as the Cosmic Control Rod, which could be an altered Cosmic Cube. Even though both may not look the same, but seeing how Hollywood has altered their Marvel films different from what we usually read,…. It could be the one thing that Loki has to control this army we see within the films. Personally I believe that this film has somehow transformed the Cosmic Cube into the Cosmic Control Rod.

Possibly the whole premise of this movie is that Loki (in disguise) managed to use the Cosmic Cube as a way to open an extra dimensional portal, possibly the Negative Zone, to unleash an army upon the world. Because of this, Nick Fury is forced into forming the Avengers to fight against this threat. But, an internet rumor claims that the Avengers may find itself facing something different when Loki’s extra dimensional tampering found itself unleashing more than a wave of aliens, when our mysterious second villain finds itself becoming the true threat of the film.

As for Annihilus making his debut in this movie,…even though I’m seeing something that strongly resembles the Annihilation Wave, for some reason I feel that it may be another villain, it’s strongly rumored that Thanos was to be the second villain as well.

Here's the trailer if you feel like analyzing some things
