Ant-Man and the Wasp could be the first MCU movie I haven't seen in theaters since the original Ant-Man. I'm honestly just not that hyped. I'm sure it'll be a good movie, but good enough to pay full theater price? I'm just not sure.

Movie Pass makes these decisions very easy for me (assuming they don't alter the deal again).

There is a general weakness most heroes have is just fighting a stronger opponent. Wonder Woman may not have the achilles heel of kryptonite, but she can be cut or bruised and beaten so fights can have suspense.

It is nice to set levels of strength such as saving people, what effort is it to lift object X that we can relate to in real life?

@theamazingspidey:

Yeah, here in India, its a pretty big deal. The Jungle Book was the highest grossing Hollywood movie here, followed by The Amazing Spiderman I think.

But Infinity War has demolished all the opening records here. It's one of the highest grossing openers here regardless of Bollywood or Hollywood. I think it will break all lifetime records.

At this rate, It will probably cross TFA's lifetime gross records. What do you think?

Maybe internationally, but I don't see it coming close domestically.

@green_tea: Because Black Widow will die causing Bruce/Hulk to lose control, thats the one thing they both love.

Good call, I do hope to see savage or world breaker in Avengers 4.

@hatsoffmelo: Dude..they’re kids...They just saw their heros die.

So...

It's not real...

It's emotional investment, that makes it "real" to the viewer. I know this "not real" mentality, uncle of mine has it so he reads only non-fiction and watches documentaries. For those of us that enjoy escapism (Super heroes) we enjoy the ups and downs of following our beloved characters.

My local theatre was almost entirely Infinity War with showings every 30 minutes and they were still selling them all out. I think it will have solid legs too as enjoyed it and want to see it again which I didn't for Avengers 1 or 2.

In the minds of the general public you will get that. The Avengers were a poor man's Justice League, and then the MCU happened and casual fans I know consider them miles above the Justice League. To me the Flash is a massive character, but right now people view him below every main character in the MCU. Anyone outside the Trinity of DC has an image issue with large casual audience.

I'd say $700M is the mark, but then these movies are as much merchandise drivers as the are films. That said, I'd be stunned if this doesn't breeze past a billion within a few weeks of release.

Have they shown a full image of the character design? I want to know if he's all black or has white like the giant spider on his front.
