They aren't God's, Odin died of old age, not very godly. Just because their based off comics doesn't mean much, they vary quite a bit. Meanwhile Ares is an olmypian with true immortality. Much more godly.

And yeah but this is MCU DCEU not comics, Ares is an Olympian god, Thor and Hela are Asgardians, two different classes.
