Thanks for the concise yet comprehensive review Miss J! I read the first EA: Iris trade and enjoyed it but I lost track after Aspen launched the Hit List Agenda arc which featured the other EA's Lotus, Lily, and Orchid. Then I come on the site today and see there is a new EA: Iris series and I'm like "OMG, I'm super behind now!" but you've ensured me that I may just be able to jump into this series without being overburdened with reading the others.

Same here! And it took me a minute to remember him even being in Stargate considering he looked like that at the time.

COULD NOT AGREE WITH YOU MORE!!! And I'll likely be falsely accused of being a "Batman Hater" simply because I have Superman as my profile pic but I am just tired of this narrative that suggest "he can just do these things" and we as the reader should just accept it, "BECAUSE HE'S BATMAN!"

I LOVE Marvel Universe figures! They just work better for me, I can collect a bunch of them and have them on display without them taking up a whole lot of space like the 6" Marvel Legends figures. I mean I'm not knocking anybody who prefers the Legends brand I just personally prefer these.

Can't say I'm happy about the spoiler but I'm totally juiced about the introduction of the Crime Syndicate of America in the New 52. God knows I've been waiting for this since the New 52 began.

This is an interesting one for me because on one hand you have movie Batman, who was formally portrayed by Christian Bale, and on the other hand you have Dredd who was played by Karl Urban the man who I hope will now take up the mantle of movie Batman since Bale doesn't want to do it anymore. Oh the irony! @k4tzm4n you know you did this on purpose! lol j/k

But all that aside in all seriousness my vote goes to Dredd.

1. I mean really @g_man you were bothered by how they didn't go in depth about how Lois discovered who Clark was? I mean did you want to see a Superman movie or a film about the process of what an investigative journalist goes through? LOL
2. You said you were bothered by Clark's lack of concern for the collateral damage he was causing, won't disagree with you there, but seeing as how the sequel has already been green-lit, assuming they picked up right where this one left off, imagine a new downtown Metropolis being built by none other than Lex Luthor! We already saw the Lexcorp building in the background so we know he exist and it'll be a perfect way to introduce him and we can finally get that rich, arrogant, businessman Luthor who will immediately have a sense of entitlement because he is helping the city of Metropolis recover from the Kryptonian invasion, which Luthor will see as Superman's fault of course, and because of this and the fact that despite the fact that he is rebuilding the city the people seem only obsessed with the new phenomenon that is "Superman."
3. Now as to your point about Clark killing Zod... I also struggled with this at first but then I began to look at it this way, what if in this new take on the Superman tale it is this one death that forces him to adopt his "I shall never take a life" mentality simply because of the emotional toll taking this one life, however justified, had on him?

Great point because in everyone of those films one of his villains died either by his actions or inaction. Of course in Begins it was Ra's al Ghul, in Dark Knight it was Two-Face, and in Rises it was Talia al Ghul.

(sigh) Why is this series being made? With villains month approaching it would've made far more sense to use these designs on a New 52 take on the Crime Syndicate of America. I could particularly see the Superman one being used for his CSA counterpart Ultraman (and yes even with the crazy hairdo, lol) and the Batman one, with some slight alterations, could be used for his CSA counterpart Owlman. As for the rest of them I'd go back to the drawing board, don't get me wrong, I really like them (especially that Flash) again I'm just thinking about using them for New 52 designs of the CSA...

but since that's totally not what they plan on using these for anyway I guess it makes this whole post irrelevant so carry on. lol :-)
