Gambit is a charming master thief turned X-Man. He possesses the mutant ability to charge inanimate objects with kinetic energy, causing them to explode, he is also extremely agile because of his powers. Gambit's signature move is throwing charged playing cards.

Ruckus hits them with a sonic scream that knocks them out of the complex. Ruckus runs off into the island jungle when Gambit tries to hit him with an energy charged playing card.

Ruby Thursday was among the villains at a night club who fought Gambit and Joelle when they caused a scene; Gambit exploded her head in the conflict.

  • Gambit and Sabertooth have known and hated each other for years. During a job, Sabertooth captured both Gambit's mark and his step-brother, Henri. Gambit was forced to choose between them, leaving the other to die. Unsurprisingly, Gambit chose to save his brother.

  • A Lord of Chaos and Master of the extra-dimensional gods known as the Old Ones, Shuma-Gorath rules over hundreds of dimensions. He is best known for being one of the most powerful and terrifying adversaries of Doctor Strange. It is seemingly impossible to permanently destroy this evil god.

  • A sword-wielding mutant, Silver Samurai has often tangled with Wolverine as the bodyguard of Viper, and later an occasional mercenary. He is the head of Clan Yashida, as Wolverine's ex-fiancee formerly was.

They clashed with him on numerous occasions. However, after The Pig's death, they also helped him break into Castle Doom, when Gambit needed to use Doom's time machine.

Storm had been reduced to the state of a child, an would have been an easy prey for her where it not for the mutant known as Gambit, whom fought her and eventually managed to stop her and save Storm.

  • Little is known about Borya Cich prior to his encounter with Gambit. While attending an event at Cich's house, Gambit broke into Cich's vault and stole an artifact.

  • In 1891, after surviving a series of miscarriages, Amanda Mueller was accused of being the Black Womb killer. Recently Amanda attempted to gain Mister Sinister's powers by putting a code in her DNA that would cause her to partially transform into Sinister once a machine called the Cronus Device was activated. Fortunately, Gambit and Sebastian Shaw were able to destroy the machine before it was activated.

  • Gambit battled Omega Red alongside the X-Men.

  • Miss Sinister opposed Gambit and X-23.

  • She was originally a member of the Morlocks before joining the Horsemen of Apocalypse. She appears as one of the Morlocks fighting the X-Men and incapacitating Gambit, infecting it with plague.

  • Time-Sink is one of Legion's personalities that escaped his body. He is a 13 year-old boy with control over the timestream. Time-Sink hid at Punta Brava, Tenerife, and was found by the X-Men. He battled and defeated Gambit, Magneto and Frenzy but was eventually defeated by Rogue and Legion, using the rapid-punching persona 302.

  • Susan in Sunshine is one of Legion's personalities that escaped from his body. She is a infant girl who can control emotions. The X-Men Frenzy and Gambit confronted Susan. When Frenzy tore apart her doll, she stopped battling due to her sadness, and then happily accepted a merge back into David. When walking through David's mind searching for Rogue in there, Charles Xavier saw Susan, seemingly playing peaceful in her cell with a new or fixed doll.

  • Leader of the six deadly personalities that broke free of David Haller's mind following the events of "Age of X", Styx is a skeletal demon who survives by devouring the souls of others. A team consisting of Legion, Magneto, Rogue, Frenzy, Gambit and Professor Xavier is assembled to hunt down the rampaging personas so that David can reabsorb them into his psyche. A series of events results in Styx kidnapping Xavier and leaving a trail for David to follow into the catacombs of Rome. Once inside, Styx reveals his goal: he wants to touch Legion and absorb his soul, so that he can use the reality warping powers of Moira (the personality who created the Age of X) in order to mold the universe to his image. However, he is tricked by David and Rogue and reabsorbed by Legion.

He participated in the battle, which was soon joined by Gambit's friends from MI13 and the Avengers Unity Squad. The prisoners failed to kill Gambit.

  • Sack battled Gambit and the X-Men in Gene Nation.

  • An extremely violent Morlock, Hemingway was a member of Gene Nation. He died, but was later briefly resurrected by Eli Bard & Selene via the Transmode Virus.

  • Former member of Magneto's original Brotherhood. She later went rogue and attempted to gain revenge on him for unspecified reasons by creating a clone of Magneto named Joesph.

  • Rem-Ram was an Acolyte who joined Cortez on his assault on the X-Men.

  • During the Acolytes' attack on Xavier's Mansion that was ordered by Fabian Cortez, Barnacle struggled with Storm, but was defeated. Fabian fled, leaving Barnacle and Acolytes. They asked for asylum but Professor X refused.

  • In battle with the X-Men Projector stuck near Fabian Cortez and used his forcefield to protect him from Gambit's attack.

  • Static used her scrambling powers to briefly take out Storm and Gambit, but was so distracted that she almost was eviscerated by Marrow. She was saved by Cortez, who then ordered her to scramble Charles Xavier's powers. With his psi-shields down, Cortez figured the professor would be helpless against Rem-Ram's powers. However, the far more experienced Xavier took out Static with a mindblast before she could target him.

  • One of the most powerful, if not the most, mutant telepaths on Earth. The Gamemaster's mind is linked to every psyche on the planet where he could toy with their lives to ease the pain from his powers.

  • Gambit and Joseph were always going to clash and the breaking point came when Remy thought that he caught the other man in the process of spying on Rogue changing. They ended up fighting against each other, much to Rogue's outrage.

  • Chief scientist of a faction allied with Apocalypse.

  • Neophyte is a pacifist member of the mutant fanatical group the Acolytes, who are religious followers of Magneto. Neophyte was tried for treason against the group, but has since rejoined their ranks. He was most recently seen as a resident of the mutant island Utopia.

  • Rax battled and tried to kill Gambit in his hometown of New Orleans to get back in Domina's good graces. Rax employed some dastardly tactics to defeat Gambit and was about to kill him before Domina intervened and spared Gambit's life, calling Rax back to the Warclan.

  • In reality of Apocalypse Cloak was recruited by Sinister to be part of his Sinister Six. When the X-Men tracked Sinister to Liberty Island, a battle erupted. During the battle, Cloak trapped Gambit, Dazzler and Nightcrawler into the Dark Force Dimension. Storm slew Cloak with a powerful lightning bolt. Upon Cloak's death, only Nightcrawler and Dazzler were dispelled from the Dark Force Dimension. Gambit was presumed dead.

  • Once with the Exiles (Earth-6706), Gambit and his family are attacked by the Bloodwitch and other Bloodforce that after the battle tried to kill them with a radioactive bomb. Saved by Remy's sister Valeria Fen and her fiancee Attuma they are able to pass through the barrier around the Earth created by Black Panther and escape into the Moon where the Earth's government led by Amara Aquilla reasides. With his family safe Gambit decided to join the New Exiles .

  • When X-Men (Storm, Jean Grey, Gambit, Beast and Cable) asked to help recover a missing Russian agent and ended up running up against Big Casino and his ring of mutant slavers.

  • Gambit came across Emery robbing a bank, and, after a short fight, convinced Emery that he was simply confused and trying to leave an impression on the world. Emery agreed to turn himself in, but, as he dropped his force field, he was gunned down by police.

  • The Tithe Collector was a mysterious servant of Candra. For centuries the Collector received the tithe owed to Candra by the various Guilds in exchange for the Elixir of Life.

  • Detective Noreen Tanaka hoped Bandit would have killed Gambit by now. Later, during attack the Assassins Guild, detective Tanaka appeared, holding a nuclear device in her hand. However Gambit defeated Tanaka, striking her in the chest with his cards and neutralizing device.

  • Marius, the leader of the New Orleans Assassins Guild and father of Belladonna. Marius had a sword-fight with Gambit, which Remy won, with the help of Rogue.

  • Gambit and other X-Men helped Wild C.A.T.s defeat the Pike and Daemonites.

  • The other Wormwood - an enigmatic, dwarven, misshapen figure that accompanied Stoker, often sitting on his shoulder and either parroting or punctuating Stoker's speech. Wormwood was present when Stoker confronted Gambit and Anielle in the Our Lady of Sorrows church and when Stoker took control of Katrina. He was also present atop Black Kat's shoulder as she appeared in Vatican City. Wormwood was devastated when Stoker was apparently destroyed by Anielle. He rode a Cerberus out of town after telling Gambit, "In the end-times, as the light fails, all will turn to the dark for its familiar comfort...you don't get to choose."

  • Cerberus is the name for each of the legions of Hellhounds serving Stoker. They are an ancient lineage, "more pure and true then your own mongrel breed" Stoker told Gambit. One accompanied Stoker in confronting Gambit and Anielle in the Our Lady of Sorrows church. Another Cerberus accompanied Sybil in confronting Gambit and Anielle atop a train bound for Rome, swiftly getting between Gambit and Anielle to prevent Gambit from escaping with her. Cerberus attacked Gambit savagely and threatened to overwhelm him, but apparently was destroyed by Anielle's energies. Yet another accompanied Stoker to Vatican City and confronted Gambit and Anielle as they approached the Vatican. After Stoker's apparent destruction, Wormwood rode that Cerberus out of town.

  • Nanny once captured some X-Men (Gambit, Joseph, Rogue), which arrived in Antarctica. Nanny cared for X-Men and punished Gambit and Rogue with an energy charge because they were not sleeping. Later Joseph freed Gambit, Rogue, Spat and Grovel and tried to escape, but they were intercepted by Nanny and her robots. Nanny wanted to punish their "children" and transformed herself into "battle-mode;" but she was unable to perceive Trish Tilby with her radar. Trish sneakily smashed Nanny's head with a crowbar, deactivating Nanny. Gambit charged the head with his powers and threw it far away, where it exploded.

  • An occult dabbler and uncle of Lili Penrose, Morgan (Morgan Penrose) obtained the powerful (and allegedly first) tarot deck, the Inficio Aquilus and attempted to use the cards for occult. Lili learned of the occult from her uncle and allied with Orleans Cooper to obtain the Inficio Aquilus. Lili hired Gambit to steal the Inficio Aquilus. When Morgan held a showing of the Inficio Aquilus, attended by number of New Orleans based occultists, the cards had been stolen by Gambit and were subsequently claimed by Gambit's rival, "Fast" Jack Jessup. Morgan, his security systems showing Gambit as the thief (thanks to Jessup reactivating the cameras after Gambit had deactivated them), met with Orleans Cooper and demanded Gambit's death as punishment. Orleans sent his personal assistant, Alphonse, a mutant top-ranking member of the Assassins Guild, to carry out Penrose's request. In the end Lili slew Morgan Penrose and planned to devour his heart as part of the ritual to gain the power of the Inficio Aquilus.

  • As part of the Marauders, Gambit and Sunfire encountered Cable on the island of Providence. Before the fight Gambit said, "I dropped that whole new look, wit' the help of a friend." He then asked Cable for use of his super-computer to answer a question referring to the phrase "one minute before dawn,". As a result, Gambit and Sunfire attacked him eventually forcing Cable to activate a self-destruct sequence destroying the entire island. Gambit and Sunfire escaped empty handed. During the fight, Cable noted that Gambit's accent sounded 'forced' either for comic effect or perhaps to indicate that things may not be as 'back to normal' as they seem with Gambit.

  • Huey worked with Quiet Bill under the control of the New Son in order to kill Gambit.

  • Bandit once turned up in New Orleans where he romanced Bella Donna Boudreaux, leader of the Unified Guilds. Although he furthered the Guilds' criminal endeavours, he perceived Belladonna's ex-husband Gambit, noted thief and X-Man, as an obstacle, and urged the Guilds to kill him. However, to Belladonna's outrage, Gambit revealed Bandit was manipulating her and had never broken off his relationship with Silhouette. The quarrel was interrupted when the Guild members turned on all three, but Gambit and Belladonna cooperated with Bandit to defeat their attackers. Bandit left New Orleans, and recently, reformed the New Warriors, using the codename of his deceased brother.

  • Crossbones was hired by New Son to assassinate Gambit, but despite allying with Batroc and Zaran, was defeated by the combined efforts of New Orleans' Assassins Guild' and Thieves Guild.

  • Gambit and X-23 confronted Daken and Malcolm Colcord, during travel to Madripoor to find Daken and find out about the newly resurrected Weapon X program.
