Gambit is a charming master thief turned X-Man. He possesses the mutant ability to charge inanimate objects with kinetic energy, causing them to explode, he is also extremely agile because of his powers. Gambit's signature move is throwing charged playing cards.

  • Akhenaten was an Egyptian Pharaoh circa 1300 BC who was chosen by the Celestial Order to receive a huge portion of power from the Heart of the Universe.

  • Mercenary, formerly of the French Foreign Legion. He is one of the most formidable unarmed combatants in the world. He has mastered numerous martial arts and is perhaps the world's leading master of Savate, the French art of kick boxing. He is an accomplished thief and smuggler.

It turned out that the special cards were tarot cards over seven hundred years old and they possessed supernatural powers. Lili would work with a gangster named Orleans Cooper who owned a club in New Orleans. The two manipulated another thief named Jack Jessup to steal the cards and turn him against Gambit. It turned out that Lili Penrose killed her uncle and she was into the occult. Gambit was held captive by Lili and she wanted his heart for sacrifice but the mutant had an ace up his sleeve. Gambit had taped one of the supernatural tarot cards onto his chest and Lili was burned and blinded when she looked at it. Lili was taken down and apprehended by the police.

  • M.O.D.O.K. is an acronym for Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing. He has a plethora of psychic powers, which he used to take control of A.I.M.

  • Madame Hydra, formerly known as Viper, is the terrorist leader of HYDRA and an enemy of Captain America, Nick Fury and Wolverine among many others. While she is not the ruler of Madripoor, she did - or does - own it.

  • It was Magneto posing as Eric The Red that staged Gambit's "trial" in Antarctica. In the AoA, Magneto betrayed Gambit's trust and took Rogue as his wife.

  • Father of the techno-organic alien hero, Warlock. Just like his son, who is often confused with the cosmic hero Adam Warlock, as this Magus shares the name of Adam Warlock's evil counterpart, Magus.

  • Mojo hails from Mojoworld, a planet in another dimension. It was there that his race evolved, unable to stand because they did not have backbones. Arize invented an exoskeleton enabling them to stand.

  • 19th Century scientist Nathaniel Essex was genetically mutated by Apocalypse, who shared his philosophy of Social Darwinism. Becoming the immortal Mr. Sinister, he is perhaps the greatest geneticist in the world; capable of cloning, creating, enhancing, and controlling mutant abilities.

  • Oliver Stoker was a being of evil that thrived on corrupting souls. He wanted to obtain the fallen angel, Anielle, but Remy had appointed himself guardian of her. He sent his disciples against Gambit to get Anielle. He almost corrupted Sister Katrina, but she fought free of him. He was destroyed when Anielle joined with him.

  • Oracle is a long serving member of the Imperial Guard of the Shi'ar Throne. She has been both a friend and foe to the various heroes of Earth.

  • Orphan Maker is an enigmatic mutant, whose powers (though unrevealed) remained after Decimation. As a boy, he was nearly killed by Mr. Sinister. Nanny rescued & recruited him for her team, the "Lost Boys." He kills the parents of mutant children, creating more soldiers for Nanny.

  • Porous was a mutant in Valle Soleada, California. He would use his powers to harass normal humans with his friends Cutter and Dervish. When attacking two police officer, the gang was chased off by Sage and Bishop. He later attacked Rogue and Gambit, who were depowered at the time.

  • Prodigy is a naturally intelligent Mutant with the ability to mimic the knowledge, mental skills, and abilities of others around him. Prodigy lost his powers after Decimation, but to an extent, regained them after Stepford Cuckoos restored his previous memories and skills. He's now has all the skills and abilities of everyone he met while his powers were active, including the abilities of most of the other X-Men and his fellow students. Prodigy recently became a member of the Young Avengers.

  • The enigmatic mutant known as Pulse has the power to nullify other mutants' powers. He was brought to the X-Men by Mystique who wished to disrupt the relationship between Rogue and Gambit. The former cat burglar, and self-professed coward, joined the X-Men in a battle against Apocalypse.
