A former nuclear physicist and atomic researcher, Otto Octavius' life changed forever when one of his experiments went horribly wrong. From that day forward, he has set out to prove his superior intellect in a number of ways, but these plans are usually thwarted by Spider-Man.

Although Fusion had apparently forced Octavius into submission, Octavius eventually revealed that he had merely been faking his submission so that Fusion could do all the hard work of finding the satellite for Octavius to sell off, subsequently beating Fusion half to death and attempting to sell the satellite himself before he was caught and defeated by Spider-Man.

Unbeknownst to the rebels, the Sinister Syndicate and Doc Ock only wanted to loot the nation's treasury and leave. With the assistance of the super powered villains, the rebels overthrew their dictator and took him captive.

  • Reed Richards, also known as Mr. Fantastic, is the leader of the Fantastic Four. He can stretch his body to great distances due to his exposure to cosmic rays while in space. He is also considered to be one of the smartest men alive.

  • Darla Deering was a trendy socialite who after a romantic encounter with Johnny Storm, wound up as a substitute member of the Fantastic Four. Now as a member of the team, she wears a suit previously used by the Thing when he was de-powered which grants her superhuman strength.

  • Daniel Berkhart was the second person to call themselves Mysterio and cellmate to the original Mysterio. After the supervillain's suicide, Berkhart took up the mantle of Mysterio.

  • A new person wearing the equipment of the original Mysterio (Bought the rights to use the name from Hobgoblin)

  • Nikki was born on Mercury and joined the Guardians of the Galaxy after her planet was attacked by the Badoon.

  • Oscar McDonnell was the scientist in charge of the Care Labs, a government-owned project developing new weaponry.Care Labs was then attacked by the incomplete Sinister Six (Dr. Octopus, Electro, Hobgoblin, Mysterio, Vulture). 47 people were killed in the attack, 162 were wounded. As Oscar was not seen afterwards, he can be presumed among the casualties.

  • Overdrive is a villain who uses nano-bacteria to alter motor vehicles to his liking. Formerly working for Mr. Negative, he is now a member of the Sinister Six.

  • After refusing the Owl's partnership offer, the two clashed over possession of a nuclear device in what was called the 'Owl/Octopus War'. The conflict ended after Doctor Octopus nearly killed the Owl in a violent attack. Later, as the 'Superior Spider-Man', he broke up a fight between Owlsley and third White Dragon, then subdued them.

  • Phil Urich, for a time, was a hero who somewhere along the line began thinking the universe was against him leading to a psychotic break. Formerly taking up the mantles of Darkhawk, Green Goblin and Hobgoblin, Urich is now known as the Goblin Knight.
