Powers
Venom—Medusa’s venom is similar to that of the Blue-ringed Octopus. It is called tetrodotoxin and is 1,200 times more toxic than cyanide, the toxin causing motor paralysis, and respiratory arrest within minutes of exposure. The toxin is distributed via bite or other oral contact.
Chitinous Skeleton—Medusa’s skeleton is lighter and more flexible than traditional human skeletons. This grants her extreme agility and sightly faster speed than the average human at the expense of being more physically fragile.
Camouflage—Her skin has special receptors that can mimic the texture of objects she touches. Her skin can also change colour at will to match any number of surfaces. Medusa can change her complexion, hair, and eye colour at will. Her shapeshifting is limited to humanoids similar to her own build, able to adjust it only slightly. She can even form what looks like black clothing with her camouflage.
Autonomy/Regeneration—While not immortal, Medusa’s skin-shifting ability keeps her looking young. She is able to regrow appendages and minor wounds within a matter of minutes. Her tentacles in particular have a rapid healing factor.
Tentacles—She is able to transform her limbs into a series of tentacle-like appendages which are longer and lack rigid bone structure. They can extend almost as long as the height of an average human and are strongly muscled to allow them to move and grasp without bone leverage or joints. Her tentacle appendages have many nerve endings including chemo-receptors which give her the ability to taste the surfaces or air making them especially useful for navigating dark or mirky places. Her tentacles have suction cups that allow her to pull herself up even smooth surfaces like glass.
Ink—When threatened, she can release a slick, black ink through her pores making her slippery and difficult to grab. Beneath her nails are special channels that can excrete a more concentrated ink that disperses into the air like a dark mist. This can blind or choke many people who get caught in her ink cloud or at the very least obscure their vision to give her the upper hand with her tactile senses.
Amphibious Breathing—Medusa has gills located on both sides of her throat which allow her to breath underwater. Delicate capillaries absorb the oxygen from the surrounding water and injects it directly into her blood stream to be used. Often she disguises her gills using her skin manipulation or by wearing a choker necklace.
