I can also confirm the same as @cbanack And can't track down a specific set of rules that cause it to error. Just sometimes it loads, sometimes not. I've had it happen as every often as 1/5 calls, others 1/50 (ish). Also, as @cbanack, the problem seems to have started in the last 24 hours.

@jslack Thanks for upping the limit, much appreciated for working with us to get the limits up. Glad to hear that things are being worked on and you guys are looking to make the limits as high as possible. :)

Hello all,

Just wanted to say think you to @jslack for getting back to everyone so quickly with responses. I've been monitoring this thread with a lot of interest, as my application has been having problems with running over the API request limit. I find I can just barely tag the amount of comics I would like with my app within the 15 minutes, so like everyone else is saying, at least the 800/60 option would help out. At least until the API is separated from the main site. Thanks again for everything.

Hello @kdmckenzie,

It looks like in the query &resource=volume needs to be &resources=volume it's just missing that 's', that should limit it down to volume results.

No problem @tuy,

Ahh, gotcha. Unless there's something I'm not seeing, I don't think there's a way to restrict fields one one level down. So if you want info on the Volume, you'll get some additional stuff to show some basic info about the object you are requesting.

Hello @tuy,

You should be able to add &field_list= to your query with the fields that you'd like, separated by commas. So if you just need the name something like this should work:

http://www.comicvine.com/api/search/?api_key=YOUR_API_KEY&query=the%20AND%20walking%20AND%20dead&resources=volume&field_list=name

Or, if you need some more info:

http://www.comicvine.com/api/search/?api_key=YOUR_API_KEY&query=the%20AND%20walking%20AND%20dead&resources=volume&field_list=name,image,start_year

Is this something that you were looking for?

It seems that in searching not all results are actually being returned. For example, if one searches for Red Skull, only two results come back. (This search has been updated for the new AND search operator being required) See below for an example query. And there are others like I, Vampire, Red Sonja, Captain America, Captain America & Bucky, Green Lantern, Iron Man... And more. All of these are missing specific volumes. The volumes can be found in searches for more generic terms like "Green" or "Captain". Just wondering if there was a change, or a bug somewhere.

This seems to be happing for the main search too as: http://www.comicvine.com/search/?q=red+skull&indices%5B%5D=volume only returns two results.

http://www.comicvine.com/api/search/?api_key=YOUR_API_KEY&format=json&query=red%20AND%20skull&resources=volume

Even the more open: http://www.comicvine.com/api/search/?api_key=YOUR_API_KEY&format=json&query=red%20skull&resources=volume only returns two results.

Hello @maumau,

You can get a full list of the resources and IDs at http://www.comicvine.com/api/types/?api_key=YOUR_API_KEY&format=json

The forum post The New API has some helpful information on some of the major changes that they put out.

No problem-o glad to help.

The information for that is in the forum post: The New API. Although it's ben a little while since it's been updated. It used to work without the resource ID for a while, but I guess recently it's now a requirement. Otherwise there's some good info at the API Documentation page. From looking at it now it doesn't seem to have any example URLs or info saying it's required.
