Spent the day giving myself a break from studying for midterms with some Marvel vs Capcom 3 and reading some comics. Here's what I read today! 
Superboy 4 by Jeff Lemire
Batman: No Man's Land Volumes 3-5
Pretty good stuff, to be honest. I'm really getting into Lemire's work as a writer, and his ability to do superhero, slice of life and everything in-between is really impressive. I'm starting to gain an appreciation for more types of comics through him.
No Man's Land is something that I've been meaning to read for awhile now, as it seems pretty seminal to the Batman mythos. I truly got an idea of how bad Gotham is, and what happens to its villains when left to its own devices. The art's a little dated for my liking, but man, that story is amazing. Commissioner Gordon gains my respect, as usual.
Two new covers for Brian Wood's series DMZ have been posted on his Tumblr this afternoon, giving us a little bit of insight into where the series is headed. Issue #66, titled "Citizen Zee," looks to be one of Wood's great one-shots, hopefully giving some closure to Zee's story before the end of the series with #72. Issue #65 concludes the Free States Rising storyline, and looks to be a crossroads in the lives of two characters who've been with us the entire story so far. Matty and Zee have given us different sides of the DMZ Conflict, and look to be parting ways. A little heartbreaking, considering their kind-of-relationship. I guess time will tell on this one.
My review of the new Community "Dungeons and Dragons" episode got posted yesterday! In it, I go into why the episode is a great depiction of D&D, and why nerds should care about how they're portrayed in larger media.
I think it's important for nerds to care about that because culture aimed at them has the possibility to be affected by that portrayal. Are you a neckbearded basement-dweller who doesn't ever wash? More importantly, do you want to be treated like one?
