I for one was shocked and upset by the death of Nightcrawler during Second Coming, so much so that his return so early (I know a lot's happened since 2010, but still). I guess it was inevitable, but it just takes away from what was such a 'great' death for him to be returning already.

Saying that, he's one of my favourite X-Men and I'm eager to see him back. Hopefully this new X-title will be enough to entice me, I'll be looking out for reviews. The potential's there to do something really great with the opening arc, and with the character in general; let's just hope the creative team delivers.

Bar the 'essentials', what's recommended as great/excellent reading then? I've heard good things about "New Ways To Die"; so am thinking of picking up that trade at least.

All,

I've been away from comics for a few months now, currently just completing my collection of pre-Fear Itself Avengers and X-Men titles (and have Fear Itself, the mini-series already). One title I'm massively behind on though is Spider-Man, who I've often not worried about; the title seems to be in a time zone of its own (as does David's X Factor).

I own One More Day, Brand New Day v. 1-3 and Kraven's First Hunt and have the following list in a word document:

Spider-Man – New Ways to Die • #568-573

Spider-Man – Crime and Punisher • #574-577 + One Shots

Spider-Man – Death and Dating • #578-583 + One Shots

Spider-Man – Election Day • #583-588 + One Shots

Spider-Man – 24/7 • #589-594 + One Shots

Spider-Man – American Son • #595-599 + One Shots

Spider-Man – Died In Your Arms Tonight • #600-601 + One Shots

Spider-Man – Red-Headed Stranger • #602-605

Spider-Man – Return of the Black Cat • #606-611 + One Shots

Spider-Man – The Gauntlet, Book 1 – Electro and Sandman • #612-616 + One Shots

Spider-Man – The Gauntlet, Book 2 – Rhino and Mysterio • #617-621 + One Shots

Spider-Man – The Gauntlet, Book 3 – Vulture and Morbius • #622-625 + One Shots

Spider-Man – The Gauntlet, Book 4 – Juggernaut • #626-629 + One Shots

Spider-Man – The Gauntlet, Book 5 – Lizard • #630-633 + One Shots

Spider-Man – The Grim Hunt • #634-637 + One Shots

Spider-Man – One Moment in Time • #638-641

Spider-Man – Origin of the Species • #642-647

Spider-Man – Big Time • #648-651

Spider-Man – Matters of Life and Death • #652-657

Spider-Man – The Fantastic Spider-Man • #658-662

Spider-Man – The Return of Anti-Venom • #663-665

Spider-Man – Spider-Island • #666-673 + One Shots

Spider-Man – Flying Blind • #674-677 + One Shots

Spider-Man – Trouble on the Horizon • #678-681 + One Shots

Spider-Man – Ends of the Earth • #682-687 + One Shots

Spider-Man – Lizard: No Turning Back • #688-691 + One Shots

Spider-Man – Danger Zone • #692-697 + One Shots

Spider-Man – Dying Wish • #698-700

Am therefore wondering, in an attempt to catch-up; which of these trades I can afford to miss/which are essential reading? Without reading spoilers etc., I already feel like 'Crime and Punisher' will just essentially be an excuse at a team-up/battle and therefore not serve much purpose to the grand scheme of things; while the Obama-featuring 'Election Day' also gives off similar vibes.

Appreciate the help guys!
