Malaysia , Mount Kurbo - One Week Ago

It was that time to pick up his daughter from her winter break. She was at the Nurdstrum-Gong estate his father shamefully conned from underneath the Gong family's nose. After passing through the multiple stages of security, he finally arrived at the house. The valet they hired, quickly parked the car in it's designated spot as The Man of Tomorrow went to find his daughter.

His footsteps echoed throughout the massive mansion, it appeared empty, with only the various jade artifacts and royal paintings his father collected to greet him. “Mica!” He called out, only to have his echo respond back. It didn’t take a genius to tell that something was off, being as protective of his daughter as his, he immediately began to rush up the stairs quickly beginning to check the different rooms. However, his parental wrath quickly came to a halt when he found her resting in her designated room.

It was still dark outside, and he didn’t wish to disturb her sleep. So he left her alone, he left back to the central room. Not knowing of the ever so slight cut hidden underneath her bangs, nor the bandages on her abdomen, covered by her shirt and the blanket. Nor the fact that she was messing one singular hair. Ignorant to all this unusual factors, Marques headed downstairs, about to leave once again until he heard the ever so slightest sound of whirling machinery.

The sound came from the slightly cracked vantablack door hidden underneath the broad central staircase, this led to the most recent and eerie addition of the Mansion, his father’s Black Room. A room that had no information ever left it,even Marcques never knew what was inside of it. Curiosity took over him, and he descended the absolute black staircase, having to feel his way around because there were no light sources and the door automatically closed behind him, making him question why it was open in the first place.

His footsteps were completely silent,in fact everywhere was now silent. He could even hair the sounds of his internal organs working, and even then their sounds were growing faint His silent voyage came to as a slight ‘ping’ sounded. The room felt larger, meaning he came to potentially the main room., a light (albeit very faint) came on ,and with it displayed a broken fox necklace. A silver pendant resembling that fox with its head missing. He ran his fingers across it, with the Chinese Kanzi “赎回” on the side of it. However, something else was off, his own body felt weak until it collapsed, his visible blacking out and the light turning out.

He woke up in his car and to the sound of his daughter entering the car. The sun was now up, burning into his eyes. “Good morning” His daughter spoke in her natural tone, but he was still thinking about what he saw. He started the car and headed to the airport, but he wasn't heading back the America, he had his own plans on find out the answers.
