Well, that this film is still regarded as the film to beat 10 years and about a 100 CBMs later, tells you all you have to know. Sure, some folks will like (insert film here) better, but ten years from now, no one will be asking if WW or BP (or whatever) is the best CBM film ever. (My apologies to any film should it prove me wrong.)

I liked it a bit more than you do, probably because set up doesn't bother me as much, even if it's extended. In fact, one of my gripes about the CW shows is conflict gets resolved too easily. Example..Ralph Digbny being afraid to fight when he learns he can be hurt. But by episodes ends, Barry gives him a pep talk, and voila..Ralph is brave again. I thought that should've gone on for 3-5 episodes. I like the Ivy character bit more here as she's finally discovering that her powers are quite formidable. She basically gave Selina an ultimatum about who's side to join. I like that. I absolutely love Bruce being a brat (for now) and think for the viewer to really appreciate him turning around (eventually) we have to see how far he sinks first. I personally hope he gets worse before he gets better.

While they are not all winners, and nearly every episode has some *shrug* moments for me, the reason I still think this is one of the better comic shows is that it does, what I think it set out to do: Show how Gotham's structure (and lack thereof) will make the Batman necessary. Let's not forget the show is called "Gotham" not "Pre-Batman." It's trying to give us an overview of just how bad and corrupt the whole system of this city is, from the cops to the mob, to the madmen in Arkham. Like I said, show isn't perfect and certainly some things could be done better (as with all shows) but I think they achieve their primary goal, which is I think is a bit harder to do than in shows "Flash" or "Arrow" which is mostly to capture the central characters life.

I'd give this episode a 7..maybe an 8 if I'm in a good mood.

Simonson. May be biased by meeting him at a couple comic-cons, and what a great guy! (as well as a heck of a writer.)

One that always gets lost: Steve Englehart. His run-on Detective in the 70's is pretty much what inspired the Animated Series. It's great stuff and Marshall Rogers is the best Batman artist ever. (Even better than Neal Adams IMHO) Scott Snyder also deserves consideration.

Why is Coke more successful than Pepsi? I dunno..just is. Does that make Pepsi a failure. No, it does not. I wish I was the CEO of Pepsi. FWIW: Marvel has gone bankrupt before. DC hasn't. So...I think that tells you DC not as inferior as one might think.

Well, I recommend: You might have to go the trade paperback route for some of these.

Daredevil: Frank Millers run. Which include the Elektra Saga and then a few years later "Born Again" While they do kind of make Matt's life a soap opera, it's full of a lot of intense moments between Matt/Elektra/KIngpin and Bullseye. Heck, it made Bullseye the character he is today. Before that he was pretty much a "Deadshot" clone. I've not seen the Netflix show, but am told they take heavily from this run. It's the one run most all DD fans agree was great. Now, there's the fairly recent Mark Waid run which I loved but some folks hated. And the Bendis run which I wasn't too crazy about but many folks swear by. His current comic is pretty good as well.

Captain America: Mark Waid (again) with Man out of Time. I really liked the Mark Greunwald stories from the 80's. Where he quit being Captain America for awhile. Most will tell you the run is Ed Brubakers, which is responsible for "The Winter Soldier"

Hawkeye: I' not the best guy to ask. I didn't like Matt Fractions run, but most did. A few years ago, Jeff Lemire did a run I though was great. (Like about 3 years ago) Still, most true Hawkeye fans will tell you to ignore my Matt Fraction comments. You might want to go with the majority there. His run was about 2011 or so. (I'm too lazy to google it.)

Man...I loved both Robinson's Starman and Hickman's FF. Think I'll go with Hickman by a hair.

Surprised Wonder Woman isn't getting more consideration. Though I'd still vote for Slade.

All the hugging of kittens and delight in icecream diminishes that somewhat. Unless you are talking about Artemis?

No..I meant Diana. Focusing solely on fighting skills and such. Not sure that having a soft-side makes one less bad ass, or being an old grump makes one more bad ass.

I see. Well, I count bad-ass as both fighting skill, but to a greater extent it's the personality that goes with it. You don't need to be a grump, you just need to be cool.

We agree..maybe just to different extents. The reason I'd put Slade over Diana isn't because I think Slade could beat her..quite the opposite, I think he'd have zero chance (unless the writer says otherwise.) I'd pick him because the Slade I know (granted, mostly from the 80's and 90's) didn't "pick a side". He'd fight anyone, anywhere...for the right price. I think that's bad-ass...even if you do love ice-cream and kittens.

I think the real answer is Mel Blanc. But I'll take Kevin from the list above.
