I can honestly say I have throughly enjoyed Hickman's run on both Avengers and New Avengers, even with how dense and convoluted it can be, but after reading Secret Wars #1 (which I really loved), one thing has been bothering me about a specific moment in the comic. In it, Mr. Fantastic and Black Panther have chosen a handful of heroes to take with them to save the human race (I guess?). The group consists of; Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, (Female) Thor, Cyclops, and Star-Lord… now, was there a particular reason the Illuminati chose these heroes and I just missed it? Or, if I'm not as oblivious as I think I am, what could be the reason these characters were picked out of the thousands of other ones?
