The Amazing Jason
Hey guys/gals. My name's Jason, I've been reading comics since I could read. I started with the Amazing Spider-Man: The Trial of Peter Parker being the very first issues of anything I ever read ever. As a kid, I bounced back and forth between Marvel and the DC Universe, watching hours upon hours of Spider-Man TAS and Batman TAS, as well as TMNT and Power Rangers. As I got older, Star Wars starting pumping out more video games through CD-ROM during the mid 90's and became immersed in the world of Star Wars. Read everything from Star Wars novel to comic books and graphic novels (by Dark Horse of course, the Marvel title suuuuuucked). I even collected the card game. During the dawn of the new millennia, I really started becoming a collector of comics and started collecting Ultimate Spider-Man, and even tried Ultiamte X-Men for a while. I just never could get into anything other really than spidey. I followed him through the entire clone saga, and the civil war, followed him through multiple titles (Sesnational, Amazing, Spectacular, Peter Parker, Superior). Ultimate has by far been my favorite, both volume 1 and 3. With collecting over the past couple years I will admit I did get hooked on DCs new 52 for a long while. They started off strong with some great writers of which I was a real big fan of. TO me a comic is a story, thats where it all starts, art to me sorta follows second (a key cover is eye catching to). UNLESS you are Ramos. For whatever reason, I cannot get into his characature style of drawing, it drives me nuts (let me get an amen if you agree!) But like I was saying 52, started strong then got weird. And I read it all. Batman, Batman and Robin (which later turned into EMO Batman when Robin died), Aquaman, Green Arrow, Teen Titans, Nightwing, Watchmen. I even started reading Forever Evil for a bit, but I couldn't help but be reminded by that aweful Justice League movie where James Woods played Owl Man. So I just couldn't get into it.
I absoluteley LOVED Superior Spider-Man! I don't care what you say. That was Marvel Comics at its original. Creative, innovative, completely new idea, AND even a new costume for spidey! For the first time ever he was cocky as hell and I loved it. I was super sad to see that go. I like when Marvel gets those crazy ideas and runs with it. To me thats what Marvel Comics was all about. Thats probably why I enjoyed Ultimate Spidey so much. I love the whole Miles Morales idea. What a totally cool inspiring story to have a kid of modern day, pick up Peter's legacy.
As far as TV goes, I love GoT, halfway like/dislake Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., LOVE Arrow, and cannot wait for Flash and Gotham. CW's got some big shoes to fill with flash and I'm confident in their abilities to do so. Daredevil on Netflix ought to be alright to.
Well if you connect with me in anyway shape or form feel free to drop me a line. I'm "Jason Danger" on FB, you can't miss me. Stay faithful true believers! Nuff said
