Shannon Carter is the cousin to Peggy and Sharon Carter. While Shannon was very young, her and her parents were in a terrible car accident. Her parents were killed in the crash and Shannon was left in a wheel chair. She had no will to even attempt walking again until she met her parents next of kin, Sharon Carter. Sharon Carter was a S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent and gave Shannon a book containing all the adventures of Captain America. Reading these adventures gave Shannon hope, and she began her therapy to walk again with renewed vigor. Soon she was not only walking again, but she mastered gymnastics in a quest to become a super athlete like Captain America. She reached the peak of what she could achieve without a special trainer and was introduced to Clint Barton. Clint continued her training until she became American Dream, the next generation of Captain America!
American Dream has no super powers, aside from training her body to the peaks of its ability. Her strength seems to be on the same level as other peak human comic book characters. I'd estimate her strength to be 200-300 pounds.
American Dream stuns an alternate reality Hank Pym with a sucker punch to the jaw.
American Dream sends S.S. Agent (an alternate reality version of Captain America) flying from her punches.
American Dream throws her shield hard enough to destroy a thick slab of concrete, and then staggers a multi-ton silicone monster with a kick. (These Silicone Men are strong enough to use cars as weapons)
American Dream swings an M16 like a baseball bat and shatters it over a silicone mans jaw.
American Dream stuns a silicone man with a shield throw to the neck. She then smashes the silicone man backwards and into the ocean. These silicone men are bullet proof multi-ton bricks.
American Dream seems to be strong enough to hurt silicone men with her shield strikes. Here are two separate instances where it happened.
American Dream states that she is able to throw her shield strong enough to take off a humans head, but holds back because she doesn't kill.
With a shield throw American Dream is able to break off a small piece of Silikong, the first and most powerful silicon man. Regular silicone men are completely bullet proof.
American Dream destroys machinery with a shield throw.
American Dream is able to implant her shield in Silikong's head, and threatens to shatter his skull, although that second bit was likely a bluff. This is incredibly impressive because silicone men, who are less powerful versions of Silikong, are completely bullet proof.
American Dream also seems to have a high level of durability, although her feats in durability are limited in number. Id like to attribute this to how good her speed and agility are, as well as the fact that she can block attacks with a vibranium shield. Her durability is enough to take limited hits from multi-ton characters.
American Dream takes glancing blow from a very severely weakened Hercules and is fine.
American Dream withstands getting beaten by S.S. Agent (alternate reality Captain America) and is fine.
American Dream withstands being backhanded by a silicone man and she seems fine after that strike. She then displays her limit as she gets hit full force with a double arm strike that sends her flying with a lot of force into a vehicle. The second strike KO's her.
Without using shields American Dream and Commander A withstand being sent flying by Invisible Woman's Force Shields and were perfectly fine.
American Dream is a very speedy character, which is fitting because her main attribute is acrobatics and agility. She is yet another example of a peak human comic book character with no super powers being able to react to and dodge bullets regularly.
American Dream dodges a ton of metal rods fired when a booby trap is triggered.
American Dream saves Thunderstrike from being hit by a massive metal door thrown by Wonder Man.
American Dream breaks into a warehouse full of thugs, blocks several bullets with her shield, and then a flamethrower.

American Dream along with several other versions of Captain America dodge a shield throw from the Ameridroid.
American Dream has a few pieces of gear she uses regularly. These peaces of gear include...
- Captain America's Shield
- Disk Launchers
- Lock Picks
Firstly as the next generation of Captain America, she wields his shield. This shield isn't a cheap knock off either, its a real Captain America shield from an alternate dimension. I dont think his Caps shield needs much introduction so ill just leave it at that.
Her secondary gear are her disk launchers. Two disks on each arm, and the disks have been shown many times as being able to one hit KO thugs.
The disks don't seem to be made of any special metal, but they do provide an alternative range option for her outside of throwing her shield.
If launching her disks isn't an option she can throw them and bounce them just like her shield.
American Dream also is a skilled lock picker, and has a secret compartment in her boot that stores various tools for lock picking.
Here American Dream escapes from a prison cell pretty easily, despite having been tied to a chair in the cell.
American Dream is similar to Steve Rodgers Captain America in that she can do crazy bounce shots with her shield. While Steve is much better American Dream is still good to a super human degree.
American Dream is skilled enough to ricochet even her discs and cut thick metal cabals from a distance.
American Dream bounces her shield off several surfaces before it returns with enough precision to give her a haircut.
American Dream throws her shield and sends it ricocheting all over the place taking out three thugs before returning to her hand. She then throws it again and bounces it around the crate that the last thug is using for cover.
American Dream hits two thugs with the same throw of her shield.
American Dream bounces her shield off the ground, hits a silicone man in the throat, and returns it to her hand.
American Dream shows that her uncanny accuracy goes beyond just throwing projectiles. She uses her shield to reflect Ion Man's energy blast back into his face.
American Dream destroys the jetpack of Americop flying at high speed as she backflips over him.
Super Human Acrobatics
American Dream has trained herself to the peak of acrobatic ability. Her acrobatics are her main trait to the extent that its often listed as her power.
American Dream is described as a super athlete
In high school Shannon Carter achieved the peak of gymnastics, then Peggy Carter introduced her to Clint Barton and she began her training to surpass even that.
On nice days American Dream will leave her motocycle and just jump rooftop to rooftop.
American Dream has the most ridiculous jungle gym where she practices.
American Dream uses acrobatics to jump up a building and then from rooftop to rooftop.
Hawkeye made American Dream and the rest of the Dream Team run a Gauntlet. This gauntlet was a few thousand rubber balls meant to train them for evading gun fire. American Dream initially failed the gauntlet, but kept training with it. Eventually she is able to run through Ion Man and Red Queen's laser fire because it is similar to the gauntlet.
Here are just some examples of American Dream being extremely agile, somersaulting, and flipping around her battles.
American Dream is an expert martial artist who has been trained personally by a retired Hawkeye. She has had limited demonstrations against other skilled martial artists, but she regularly beats up groups of fodder without issue.

American Dream fights a silicone man for the first time. She fights this one too directly and ends up losing to its multi-ton strength.

American Dream fights a swam of silicone men. She has come quite a long way since fighting the first silicone man and actually puts up a struggle, but inevitably is overrun.
American Dream fights Silikong, the original and most powerful silicone man. She mostly just evades, and then bluffs him into surrender.
