All Time Fav Artists

List items

  • Probably my favorite artist right now! His women are perfect! It's fun to see how he's improved from his Uncanny X-Men days and those were pretty good too, but Top Cow work was masterful. Can draw men better than Michael Turner so I will give him an edge for that.

  • Rivals Silvestri as my current fav!

  • One of my all time favorites! He could really give the ladies beautiful eyes. Only down side was all his guys looked the same...even more so than other artists. I wish he was still with us. Rest in peace, bro!

  • An artist many may not know, but he draws females eyes on par with Turner. You can definitely notice his experience as romance artist. Brings a modern feel to John Romita, Sr's work on Amazing. Bought a couple of his art books, well worth it!

  • Awesome work! The only Birds of Prey artist that deserves recognition. His JLA run was epic! I appreciate that he tries to emphasize WW's Amazon physique, but I prefer her a tad sleeker. He learned drawing by copying pictures of actual people which is something I'm trying right now... it's hard.

  • Have absolutely noticed his work lately. Wish he'd stay on a project for a while though. Never seems to stay in one place for too long. Looks my age...I'm jealous.

  • This guy's art has changed significantly from the mid 90s. You can tell he's mastered the craft. He'll take photos to get pose, muscle movement, and shading, but then of course make it all superhero-y. Just feel sometimes his pencilling is sometimes obscured by heavy inking.

  • Do I really need to say anything about this guy? I can't imagine Supes or Bats drawn any better. His X-Men work was awesome. While sometimes his characters can look a little stiff, overall he shows why he's in such demand.

  • The definitive Spider-Man I grew up on! Remember his trading cards too. His Venom started off rough, but quickly improved a great deal. Many say his art was better on Ultimate, but I disagree, probably just because I hate how goofy teenagers bodies are and prefer adult Spider-Man. Too bad most of his 90s stuff took place during the Clone Saga...

  • People give him a hard time, but his was the Spidey that forever changed that character! I loved how Spidey would get in all those quirky positions. Way to break the mold! And say what you will, Spawn was a visual treat when he first came out.

  • The definitive X-Men artist for me. I started reading X-Men after TV show started which was after Jim Lee had left. This dude can draw great characters but especially Wolverine.

  • I love his gritty look! Try to get my hands on all his stuff that I can!

  • I absolutely loved his Catwoman from the 90s! Always preferred that costume of hers also these newer ones never seem to do it for me.

  • Often his stuff even approaches that of Lee's. Loved his Gen-13 run.

  • Took a while to really appreciate his art, but I'm glad I took the time. Perfect blend of realism with a tad bit of cartoon feel.

  • Oldschool, but loved his more heroic Spider-Man. Not to knock Ditko of course, but Romita was the first to draw a really impressive Spidey swinging into action.

  • Remember his work from buying a bunch of back issues of FF. Just went through his X-Men run about a year ago, disappointed it wasn't longer. Great WW and Post-Crisis Supes. Now his writing on the other hand is more suspect...

  • Not my favorite, but always a pleasure to see his work! Great writer too which I can't say for some of these other guys...

  • This guy knew how to create compelling characters and plots. While not ranking with the other guys on this list, I'd like to see them produce as much as he did! Definitely old school work ethic.
