Writers I Want to See in the DC Rebirth Comics

I picked out few of the major titles coming out of DC rebirth relaunch where I picked some of the writers for those titles.

List items

  • ON SUICIDE SQUAD.

Suicide Squad never really had a defining run. I would bring in Gail Simone to handle the characters. She's good with team books involving villains (Secret Six). We already know the series would sell dude to the movie coming out. Simone would add more credibility to the series.

  • ON NIGHTWING.

I don't know why DC doesn't give him more work. I enjoyed his Nightwing run at the beginning of the New 52. It would be nice to see him return to this character.

  • ON BATGIRL

Hopeless is really good at writing young characters. He's doing a good job with Spider-Woman. Hopeless seems like the right man to write a new Batgirl.

  • ON TEEN TITANS.

I kept going back and forth with G. Wilson and Hopeless. Either one can write Batgirl or Teen Titans. We already know she's phenomenal with Ms. Marvel. She also has some experience with teams writing A-Force. Her talents would fit on a Titans comic.

  • ON CYBORG.

I wanted a big name to write Cyborg. Who else better than DC's poster boy Geoff Johns? Johns would help make the character become a top legitimate hero. Johns could also use something small. He's already a busy man with handing the whole Rebirth launch and DC TV shows. Someone like Johns would also help with the sales.

  • ON DETECTIVE COMICS.

I have enjoyed everything that I read from him. He needs to be part of Rebirth. At first, I wanted to put him on Justice League since he wrote the popular Injustice comic series. I got someone better for that project. For now, I want him to write Detective Comics.

  • ON ACTION COMICS.

I'm not sure if he would write an ongoing comic but this is what I want to see. Maybe he could just write the first six issues. Then another writer like Peter J. Tomasi takes over from there. American Alien, the Superman mini-series that Landis is currently writing is outstanding. He understands Superman. Let him do his thing.

  • ON GREEN ARROW.

If DC announced a new Question or Batwoman comic, Greg Rucka would be my top pick to write that instantly. I hope DC still scoops him up for Rebirth. I would like to see him tackle Green Arrow. Bring some of the street level presence to Oliver Queen's world.

  • ON AQUAMAN.

I don't think he ever wrote the character. He could do the same thing with Aquaman that he did with Wonder Woman. He's the right man for the job.

  • ON THE FLASH.

He's already a DC writer. He has proven himself to be a great creator. I would give him a top tier character to write such as Flash. I trust him to do well.

  • ON GREEN LANTERN.

I had a hard time deciding if I should put Snyder in charge of the Lanterns. I never wrote a sci-fi otherworldly type book before. At the end, I believe he can bring something new to those characters. He has become a major part of DC. He will definitely get some big heroes to write.

  • ON WONDER WOMAN.

Just do it. Anyone would be better than the current writer.

  • ON SUPERMAN.

I dug his Action Comics run that he had. I think he has a good grasp on the Superman character. Hopefully, DC will let him loose on and continue to do his thing.

  • ON BATMAN.

He's an excellent writer. He proved that he can handle DC characters with books like Grayson and Omega King. I'm also loving his Vision series. I would love to see what dark tale he tells with Batman. King could also apply his military knowledge into the book.

  • ON JUSTICE LEAGUE.

I don't think Hickman has ever written anything for DC. This would be a huge grab. He's fresh out of writing Marvel's biggest event Secret Wars. This is DC's chance to pick him up. He has mostly always written team books. Justice League would be perfect for him.
