Alpha never had claws growing out of his feet and the Superior Spider-Man looks taller than Alpha does. So I think it's highly unlikely that Alpha is the Superior Spider-Man.

What I think will happen with Alpha is by the final 3 issues of Amazing Spider-Man, Doc Ock will recruit Alpha along with some other Spidey bad guys, give him his full powers back and set him loose. By 700, Alpha goes on a crazy rampage and maybe kills Aunt May, Doc Ock is in his death throes having his last revenge on Spider-Man and in order to stop Alpha, Spider-Man has to kill him, thus triggering a change in Peter's attitude and moral code. Then something happens to Peter (maybe he undergoes another Other like regeneration) which leads to him becoming the Superior Spider-Man. It's still Peter just with a new personality.

really? why?

For one I limit myself to 8 comics anyway because my dad pays for them via an online subscription. Also, there are a lot of bi monthly titles like Avengers, New Avengers and Thor: God of Thunder. If Superior Spider-Man weren't bi monthly, I'd have picked up one more but as such I decided to stick with the best creative team on Marvel Now IMO on my 7th favourite superhero.

Looks like Mandarin is going to mess Tony up. Ben Kingsley looks set to give a stunning performence as the Mandarin. I wonder if his rings will have any power like in the comics?

@TheCannon Try the John Bryne mini series, Birthright, or Joe Kelly's workonSuperman. Those are among the best pre Flashpoint Superman stories.
