@lvdbot1: I'm aware of Slade being retconned (I even mentioned the name change). However with the others, not all of them even had the same Spirit of Vengeance. Which is also something people forget or overlook with Robbie Reyes, that it's a completely different spirit, which is why we are able to have him as well as Blaze (who did make appearances in the previous Robbie Reyes series).
It's still possible we could get a mention of Blaze in the MCU, who knows. Either way they most likely went with Robbie Reyes for a few reasons: 1. Easier to sever ties to the movies. 2. He's currently "the" Ghost Rider and is a fan favorite (not saying Blaze isn't). 3. And the character is complex enough without being burdened by too much history that they can adapt him easily.
Let's just hope you're right. Remembering the Mandarin thing in the Ironman trilogy still haunt me and Blaze might get the same treatment. Not all of what they did to Mandarin, just some or worst, more.
Robbie with the chains feels a bit off even though he did use chains in the comics. As to Eli not being the "other guy", I wouldn't be surprised if they pulled a MCU Mandarin thing again.
I hated the fact that when the AOS guys supposedly asked for Ghost Rider to be included in their series, Marvel supposedly let the AOS guys decide who to use instead of telling the AOS guys to use Blaze. Instead, we get a legacy character instead of the original SMH.
IMO based on the said news, Marvel really had no concrete plans for Blaze because they just let the AOS guys "pick". Just when I was getting hyped for Dr. Strange and it's gone after learning about the "Pick your Ghost Rider, AOS. Don't care if it's a legacy or the original just pick" news. *sigh*
It would have been better if they went for Eric Brooks first instead of the more powerful Ghost Rider family. This just messes up the Ghost Rider lineage and instead of Blaze, we get to see Robbie first.
And if Marvel is going in this direction and is still planning to have Blaze show up in the MCU, IMO they might be going for the modern leather jacket Blaze instead of the 70's unitard Blaze.
Is it gonna include commentaries on why Falcon was at fault for dodging Vision's beam attack and why Winter Soldier was at fault for killing Stark's parents when he was clearly under the effects of being brain washed?
