In Southeast Asia Snake Eyes lost two squads of men  considered brothers in combat. On thier way to pick up Snake Eyes at the airport his family was killed by a drunk driver. His surrogate father was murdered by an assassin who mistook him for Snake Eyes. He lost his face and voice in a helicopter crash to shield the woman he loved. He has buried countless friends and every known family member. The woman he loved then was kidnapped, and presumed to possibly be dead. On the mission to rescue her he drowned saving the rest of the team. He then was ressurrected by Red Ninja using mystical abilities and brainwashed to fight his own friends. After almost killing the few people left in his life he cared about he was so traumatically effected that he gave up the ninja prt of himself for a long time.

Snake Eyes....I dont have time to list everything right now but his life has been one of suffering....well what we know of it anyways since much is unknown even to him because of mental trauma.

He wouldn't if he was just a little faster.  But he's waaaaaaaaay the hell faster.  So much faster the other guy can't see him much less hit him.
