AbFP: Young Justice
Flash and Kid Flash, arriving in the ruins of the New York City of this Earth they are trapped on, searched the place for the signal that would indicate the location of this world’s Batman, who was captured by a government metahuman team called the Suicide Squad. They looked through the remains as they followed the signal tracer left behind by Batman, also finding evidence of the Atlantis-Themyscira War that destroyed NYC, nothing but collateral damage left behind in their wake. Peering behind some rubble upon hearing chimp-like chattering, Flash and Kid Flash spied what appeared to be a blue, ape-like creature rooting through the rubble. Kid Flash was first to calmly and slowly walk up to the beast to make sure it was okay, but as soon as the beast noticed what was happening, he backed against the wall in a panic and screeched loudly! Kid Flash and Flash tried to calm the creature down, but then a jettison of water struck both Flashes and knocked them back! The blue ape ran back to join a water-like entity and an albino gorilla, who attacked the Flashes. The water entity displayed its ability to change into any form of water, while the albino ape revealed it can change into any animal, although they are all pale in color. After a brief battle, the water entity held Flash against a wall and removed his mask. But then it said to Flash, “Barry Allen? Is that you?” He then got the animal-shapechanger, to calm down and let go of Kid Flash from her boa constrictor form. The two entities changed into their human forms, revealing themselves to be Michael and Louise Trevor, the now-adult twin children of Diana Creon-Trevor aka Flash’s teammate Wonder Woman! Barry Allen and Wally West, the civilian identities of the respective Flashes, were astonished. The last time they saw the twins, they were just kids, and that must have been a few days ago! Picking up their chimp-like alien companion, Glyc (pronounced “Gleek”), Michael and Louise (respectively codenamed Downpour and Shifter), told them that the Justice League, now consisting of the children and successors of the original team, were sucked into a wormhole and brought from their Earth, from the year 2035, to this Earth. The Flashes went with them to where the rest of this JL was hold up. In the ruins of the New York Times headquarters, the Flashes met the leader of this JL… Batman. However, it’s Damian Wayne, son of the original Batman Bruce Wayne, wearing the sigil of the Bat, here. We also have Aquaman II, real name: Atlan Oryn Marius the Second (son of the first Aquaman), the second Blue Beetle, Jaime Reyes, Rachel “Rip” Hunter, the daughter of Booster Gold, Sojourner “Jo” Mullein as the current Green Lantern of Earth, and finally… Jon Kent II as “Superboy”, who is the son of the second Superman, Clark Kent, and student of Damian Wayne’s Batman. After explaining this situation to this Justice League, Barry asked this Batman if his unborn twin children, whom he would have named Donald and Dawn, are adults and part of this team. Batman confirmed this, telling him they have speed powers and are respectively codenamed “Mercury” and “Inertia”, but they are possibly lost in the timestream they were all sucked into. After coming to grips with that information, Barry asked for this Justice League’s help rescuing this Earth’s Batman from the Suicide Squad, who are most likely holding him for the US Government to take custody of. Damian didn’t like the idea of saving his step-grandfather, who he knows is a bigot, but agrees as it might help them find their own way back home. With this new Justice League on their side, Flash and Kid Flash resumed the search for the signal. The team soon enough discovers a hidden field base deep within the abandoned NY subways and tunnels, manned by armed soldiers… who seem different than regular US forces. The team attacks the soldiers from the shadows but, to make a long story somewhat short, this Justice League began vanishing into the timestream! Batman warned the Flashes about other disturbances and anomalies in this world, as time may be destabilized…!
As the JL finally vanished, electrified bolas wrapped up the Flashes when they were launched from the shadows. More soldiers showed up and the leader of this team, a blonde woman, said:
“I, Commander Cassandra Cage, leader of the Insurgency, am placing you both under arrest.”
Notes:
* I incorporated a tiny bit of the original Superboy costume of Connor Kent into Absolute Jon II’s Superboy costume, here. He thinks it’s cool.
* Shifter and Downpour have mystic rings that Glyc, an alien from Exxor, gave them, which he spirited away from his planet to protect them.
** Michael and Louise know they are technically clones of their mother, Wonder Woman, and have made peace with that long ago (Same thing with Damian Wayne, who was cloned from both Bruce Wayne’s and Ra’s Algol’s amalgamated genetics).
* Jo Mulleins, the Green Lantern of this team, is a NY police officer and student of the retired Alex Dewitt.
** Jo’s Lantern Device is shaped after a pair of sunglasses from an anime series (as she is an anime dork, as well).
* Oryn Marius II is much more rowdy and prideful than his father.
** Oryn II’s design is based more on Jason Momoa’s Aquaman from the recent movies.
