Villains

No particular order, just bad guys I think are really cool or am impressed by their evilness

List items

  • A trend you'll see is that I really like death-related characters. Death has a great versatility in that he can range from genuinely unsettling to humorous to everything in between. Great villain.

  • Decided to get most of the zombie bois out the way first. I love the Grundster. I love how perfect he was as a foil for Green Lantern, and I love how thematic he is as a Batman rogue, and I love how he can wander into anyone's story and feel like a natural addition.

  • Does he NEED an introduction? He's the conqueror of dimensions, destroyer of worlds, civilizations fear his mere shadow, he murdered life itself, and tonight he'll be the slayer of He-Man.

  • Love me some universal horror, and I love me some mummies.

  • Remember when Black Hand was a jokey villain who broke the fourth wall and spoke in weird one liners? The silver age was a blast, but BH's transition from a goofball to a sadistic killer was not a smooth one.

  • The Judges who deemed all life to be illegal! CLASSIC Dredd villains who, well, are just kinda neat to me.

  • "I am Lord Zedd, emperor of all that I see" is such a cool quote.. Highlight of MMPR.

  • One of the relative few Power Rangers villains that I reallly like, even if I feel his stories were dragged out just a bit.

  • The Shredder is honestly just great in everything he's in.

  • Probably the best villain of the IDW run, everything he did was so calculated, you never know his full plan, but you know it's something serious.

  • Easily the best baddie of the IDW MLP run. The Return of Queen Chrysalis is a genuine classic of comic storytelling.

  • Karai is a very versatile character, to say the least. She's different in every appearance, but she's always Karai. That's what I love about TMNT, so much stuff stays the same, yet is changed in subtle ways to make it fresh.

  • Yeah, I consider Scrooge a bad guy. Don't @ me.

  • I just started reading Nikolai Dante, so I don't have much to say.

  • The almighty Tharg! Champion of the greatest comics in the galaxy...

  • A true girlboss and a huge inspiration to me..

  • I read every comic Brainiac appears in. No it was not fun. His best stuff is in the 70s btw.

  • Luthor used to be one of my favorites, but he dwindled a bit. Writers never know if he's an honor-bound fighter or a reflection of modern evil, but I prefer the latter.

  • Easily my favorite Flash villain. A borderline anti-hero with a genius intelligence but an everyman nature. God, oh god, does he not want you to know his heart isn't that cold...

  • I have a weird fascination with the Angel Gang. They're easily Dredd's second most iconic villains, yet they don't do much. Pa and Mean are the only ones with any real characters, and even they tend to be jokes. And yet, there's a reason why they keep coming back, and why I love it (almost) every time.

  • I just like poison based villains.

  • Mighty woman.

  • A mix of a body builder and Sigmund Freud with a history of creating monsters. Strange is one of the weirdest villains but damn if he isn't cool.

  • A Batman villain who always stuck with me. He's jut so striking.

  • Rico is...a weird character. A lot of his stories seems to depict him as someone who wants to do good, but feels restricted by the law. A bit rough, but good-natured, but all of this is undermined by his initial story involving him murdering innocents, and so I just don't think the writers know what to do with him.

  • Green Lantern really has an underrated rogues gallery. Shark is such a borderline shitpost character...a shark that can transform into a human and has telepathic powers because he was hit by radiation? PEAK Silver Age.

  • A great tragic character turned iconic superhero. Love her!!!

  • Cool character with lame stories.

  • A great creative villain with a tragic underlining

  • we stan gay gorilla

  • I want to read more Conan and Thulsa is one of the reasons for that.

  • His actual comic character is an offensive trans sterotype, but MAN his portayal by Kevin Nash is cool.

  • He's not a bad guy anymore, and I refer it that way. He's a really fun and supportive father figure towards the younger members of his makeshift family.

  • NOTHING can stop the Rhino!

  • I had a fascination with Toad as a kid. I never figured out why, I just...liked him. A lot.

  • A pretty cool new villain with a fun gimmick and powers. I'd recommend her solo series!

  • Blackfire is an unique villain. She had a redemption arc way back in the 90s, which has stuck...to this day more or less, but she's still seen as a bad guy. She had a decent stint as a Hawkman villain too.

  • Classic rival to Scooge.

  • I had a crush on her as a kid so she has to get a spot.

  • All hail Megatron! 🙇‍♀️

  • He has your back...in his crosshairs.

  • The reason I read G.I. Joe.

  • The other reason ig

  • Mean Machine is often considered Dredd's secondary main villain and he works....until writers just run out of ideas for him around the mid 2000s, where he gets a TON of arcs that never go anywhere. Shame too because he's a fun character when he's not so one-note.

  • Time traveling dinosaur, do I need to say more?

  • Great tragic villlain. His stint as a good guy only makes his evil so much more poingent.
