This is just more of the angsty Identity Crisis-type "gritty" stories that are dragging down DC.  The characters in Cry for Justice are so mis-chararacterized, the violence is so gratituitous and the plot was convoluted.  G-Man, how could you like that last issue?

I'm looking forward to this issue.  I'll be interested to see where DC goes with this...I'd like to see a resurgence of some Golden Age characters.  I'm hoping the Spirit's solo series will be well-done, too.

I can't wait!  I love the expression on her face...it's kind of hypnotic.  And I love the "Blackest Night" turtleneck...nice touch.  :)  Poor Guy, he can't catch a break these days.

I like this version, even if the mask is a bit off.  I don't see the need for superheroes having to fight with bare midriff.  It makes no sense from a logical standpoint.

Kilowog doesn't look as loveable as he does in the comics.  :(  Abin Sur looks good, though.

And I hope they stay faithful to the comics and stick with the classic Hal Jordan costume.  And he better have white gloves, dammit.  STOP MESSING WITH DESIGNS THAT WORK, MOVIES!!!!  There's a reason they haven't changed much for 50 years.

I'm surprised all of DC's references to The Pietá didn't make the list.  (Well, it's sculpture, but still.)  It's been used a LOT.

I can't stand that annoying little brat.  Or Damian, either.

@mathematicscore: J'onn J'onnz is the ink blot of the DC universe, isn't it?  You see what you want to see in him.

I don't mind when he takes various humans forms: Asian woman, little girl, African-American, whatever, but I still like to see him come "home" to John Jones, since I think his detective roots aren't played up enough.  He was a detective first and superhero second....in some ways, he's an amalgam of Batman and Superman.  How cool could that potential be, if the right approach was taken to his character?

The only form I couldn't handle was when he was a cat.  Did he really need to see life on Earth from a cat's point-of-view?  It's all just balls of yarn and playing with empty boxes, J'onn.  That's pretty much it.

I think he would've ruined GL if he directed.  It just would've been a mindless bloodfest.  A darker character, well, then, maybe.

Doesn't bother me at all.  If something Universe-shattering like Blackest Night is going on, it wouldn't make sense if there wasn't at least mention of it in another book.  (Like last week's JSA.)
