@theone34gg: I can't remember right now but I think they fought in a Hulk comic. It wasn't exactly recent though.
The intention during the "Iron Man vs Thing" thread was that I was laughing at the BS and the hypocritical thinking from that post. I was the one that was too aggressive yet they made an hysterical post to trash mine. Thing was getting low-balled somehow when everyone debating for Iron Man had acknowledged he has gotten stronger. Thing somehow has a better track record against guys like Doctor Doom when that dude is literally known for team busting the Fantastic four. Thing somehow was more effective against Sentry when he was already KOed by the time Bob even felt slight discomfort from Thing's punch(even noone pointed this BS out). Thing somehow was beating Doom when the guy had a bullet wound and still thrashed him without even being fully suited up. lol that was just gold to me
To be honest though I regret my approach to the thread. I focused on their actual feats against each other when I should've just posted feats that make Iron Man better than the Thing. Like how Iron Man manhandled an amped Ulik and the Red Hulk(I don't care how some Hulk fanboys try to warp this showing. He clearly did not shrug off that beating Tony gave him, it was quite the opposite in fact) or how he was only slightly staggered by a blow from the same Colossusnaut who was fighting Red Hulk to a standstill. I consider everyone I just mentioned superior bricks to the Thing. This all shows that Iron Man is capable of dealing with guys like Ben pretty well. People always hype of the fact that he took an attack that could split a planet(via statements only I'm pretty sure) from Galactus(funnily enough Iron Man has intercepted a blast from Thanos that stated by Galactus to be destroying parts of the Galaxy before. The blast got weaker overtime but we don't know by how much). That isn't better than Iron Man trading solidly planetary blows with Magneto or withstanding and escaping the center of a black hole.
I don't see how a full confidence Glad falls short of a base Hulk. I mean, I am not going to throw in WBH because then I would have to include Void and King Thor, and that would just be out of control.
Hulk to me is too similar to the Thing. Sure he can jump, but Sentry and Gladiator can fly and keep their difference. Not to mention, Hulks strength isn't drastically hard to deal with assuming Sentry's raw power displays.
Probably because most of the time Gladiator isn't full confidence so most of the time he's not above Hulk. Not to mention I thought about how Hulk already beat Gladiator and cancelled out his BFR attempt
@theone34gg: Sentry might lose if he holds back too much. Gladiator isn't even a threat without full confidence tbh. If he's at full confidence it's a good fight and he's by far the fastest one here(although Sentry is easily second fastest if we go along with the intent of him being slightly faster than Extremis Iron Man).
@theone34gg: Gladiator has nanosecond feats I think.
Saying Sentry isn't even on Thor/Hulk's level is funny considering Sentry has taken on people that would've thrashed both Savage Hulk/Worthy Thor(normally) with ease.
@theone34gg: Yeah there's plenty of things wrong with the arguements used against Tony. Funny thing is you could actually still scale Bleeding edge alone(let alone a composite armor) over Thing since despite his new upgrade he's still under Thor(a weaker one at that IMO) whereas Tony isn't really outclassed by Thor(he's even done better than Thor on some occasions).
Honestly though I'd have to say the most annoying arguement at this point is "X character" is a brick so they're stronger than Tony. The only reason Iron Man isn't a brick is because he isn't a slowpoke. Someone like Colossus for example has been performing below Iron Man despite being a brick and I could literally sum it up 3 scans because it's that easy.
People try to scale Sentry's power off of mid-tiers despite the fact that his powers depending on his mental state and he doesn't even go all out. He's a World War Hulk+ level threat IMO(he let Hulk hit him because he enjoyed it and he didn't attempt to use any powers during that fight). Pretty much every form besides his stable form(only when he's not using fullpower) is teambuster level so I'd argue he's above guys like Thor and Savage Hulk, feat and potential wise.
@theone34gg: I mean on this site one person could say Iron Man could do well against say Thor(he did trade blows with him in the Bleeding edge armor to be fair and that's not the only time the armor has been portrayed as a peer to Thor) and they'll say he's overrated because like I said there's only a handful of people on this site that would defend Iron Man. Half of the people here actually seem to think Tony isn't a hero due to some bad writing.
I'm kind of infamous here (not with the mods though) because I'll defend Iron Man(most of the time sometimes he does lose badly). We'll actually have people try to say DCEU Superman beats 616 Tony or do mental gymnastics to say Iron Man loses to MCU Doctor Strange. Or crap like this(my debating the best but that's a side effect for all of the lowballing, toxicity, and just absurd scaling on Thing's side yet people will try to say it was flawless. Pretty sure there were like 3 Toratorn alts on that one thread(the crazy thing I've seen Toratorn back Tony before and call him a low-high tier I'm considered unreasonable yet I'm not the first one that calls out wank everytime someone disagrees with me(which is crazy to me because we'll have people say Hulk is faster than Thor when at normal levels he clearly isn't intended to be and think nothing of it). lol I've even had a user come to me and say "Iron Man is really hated here huh?" because of more stuff like this.
Sentry is the only other character I can think of that gets the shaft like Tony does on this site(yes he might be a little wanked some times but I feel like he's really low-balled most of the time). Thor is almost always downplayed by some DC or Hulk fans specifically.
