They are a surreal squadron composed of the most dangerous individuals in human history, assembled with one mission: to save the world. Haughty and cliched as this might sound, there can be no denying the apocalyptic portents that came with the dawn of the super-hero; fire rains from the sky almost constantly as extraterrestrial invasions decimate entire continents, world-wide conflicts between man and mutant tear entire countries asunder, and power-mad superhumans wage ideological war against esoteric threats that would drive most civilians insane...were they even aware of their existence. The world's governments have failed to protect their citizens, and only an outside force can prevent any further catastrophes.

This outside force is the Consortium.

Operating in absolute secret with nearly limitless resources, the Consortium uses its vast influence to alter the outcome of any battle in their own favor before any conflict begins, crippling foes' installations and breaking their morale through sheer tactical superiority. Four unfaltering leaders, working together cohesively to surmount any obstacle by means of complete disruption on any target. Previous groups of extranormals would physically challenge their threats, often waiting for them to manifest (and cause countless civilian casualties) before declaring the day a victory. The Consortium wages a war on all fronts: physical, psychological, economic, and even spiritual, crippling any potential threat to their agenda forever. They are the harbingers of the future, and their will is absolute.

Members

Klaus von Lichter is the group's founder, a prodigy in the fields of science and subterfuge alike. Directing the squadron from behind the scenes, he identifies their targets, calculates their odds of success, and manages their resources, using his guile and his position deep with the Central Intelligence Agency in order to regulate world affairs. He delves into the secrets of their opponents, exploiting any weakness and utterly destroying a foe in all ways but physical...for he has his allies for that.

The Shogun of Venezuela could easily be classified as the leader of the world's mutant population, ruling from her fortified spire in Caracas. Arguably the most prestigious close-range combatant in the group, she fights tirelessly and ruthlessly to ensure the future of her species. Her position as the Venezuelan head of state affords the Consortium an unparalleled degree of potential military power, and her tactical mind makes the most use of any potential advantage.

Kai Aurelius, king of Mare del Fort, is the group's strongest member, bringing both Herculean might and lethal hydrokinesis to the war on chaos. As the sovereign ruler of a vast undersea nation, he alone provides the group with unquestioned control of the ocean itself, with response times to coastal threats bordering on instantaneous. Kai's strength, in addition to that of his army, make him the group's premier front-line fighter, able to tear through wave after wave of enemy forces...should the need arise.

Raysh al-Shaytan is the enigmatic leader of the League of Shadows, a group just as mysterious as their former chief operative. Called the Mourning Sparrow before his ascension to the throne of the League, his deception field prevented any means of identification whatsoever...but his true name was not important, as his unparalleled assassination skills were all that mattered. Now, his world has been flipped upside down. Challenged by the mental burdens of leadership, as well as the physical burdens that come with his mystical rings, he strives to return the League of Shadows to its former glory.

Status / Headquarters / Resources

The team's existence, currently, is absolutely secret. Lichter himself has put immeasurable effort into keeping the group's formation as clandestine as possible, and until the time comes when they must reveal themselves, it will likely stay this way.

The team has no single official headquarters, but rather, four separate potential bases they can all make use of should the need arise. Castle Lichter in Switzerland is undoubtedly the most luxurious locale of the four available locations, and also provides a great degree of seclusion for the group. Klaus' laboratory is located within, making it the center of Consortium research. The Venezeulan Spire in Caracas is incredibly fortified, but highly public. Political affairs are often handled within its enormous halls. The Monastery of the League of Shadows is undoubtedly the best-hidden headquarters of the group, and the vast libraries within offer endless esoteric wisdom. Finally, Kai Aurelius' domain, Mare del Fort, is practically unassailable by any means, making it the safest location for the group, should they ever be discovered.
