Synopsis
This is one of a set of lists I made showing a progression of the greatest characters in a heroic style throughout time. Focusing for the most part on one decade at a time. The heroes that we know and love today were inspired by heroes before them. Some are even real people who moved into folklore. Before comics there were pulp magazines. Before that there was dime novels and before that was the penny dreadfuls. There were many others as well like Gothic novels, story papers and yes even a real novel. Here is the past list

Morgause has been depicted numerous different ways. She started out as his sister and later his half sister. He would even sleep with her before discovering she was his sister. Sir Lancelot is the obviously the most popular of all the knights of the round table. His betrayal is all the more profound because of his near greatness and loyalty. He first appears in Erec and Enide at about 1170.

Like many on this list Sir Percival is a legendary knight of the Round Table. His is the lead knight in the quest for the Holy Grail. He first appears in Erec and Enide at about 1170.

Sir Caradoc was a member of the Round Table who was against king Arthur but later supported him. He is also one of the main knights in the quest for the Holy Grail. He was first seen in Perceval, The Story of the Grail written between 1181-1191.

Elain is the mother of Sir Galahad and the lover of Sir Lancealot. She was first seen in Perceval, The Story of the Grail written between 1181-1191.
