@fiesty_badger6: Thanks for the response. Yes, I can see that panel 3 should be larger - same size as others. I'm really not sure if I was doing it for effect, or because it was sloppy on my part. :)

As far as captions go, I've made a conscious decision to not use them in this story - except for a few time/location notes. Time will tell if that was wise or not.

So I've been writing some comics, and now I'm thinking about trying to letter them. At least some of my own work. I need some fresh, objective eyes. Anyone care to critique the page below?

@devitciiu: Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for this - I have since read the limited series. It's called Three.

I liked it a lot. I liked how it tried to turn 300 on its head. One thing, it was a very "small" story - I mean limited in scope and characters. Which worked great, certainly nothing wrong with that. The story I have in mind is larger in scope. I guess I'll have to figure out/decide if that can work in this medium or not...

@silent_bomber: Yes, I've read some of Age of Bronze - the story of the Trojan War. Definitely similar to what I'm thinking. Don't think they've published anything since 2013 though, and I don't think they even reached the Homeric portion of the war. Seems like they're struggling to find a big audience.

Hey folks,

Any recommendations for good historical comics? Ancient era, like Greece or Rome. Sure, I know there's 300. But anything else?

Does anyone think this could be a popular storyline for a comic book? Is there a market for it? You remember the series Rome on HBO? Imagine that as a comic book series - is there a sustainable audience for something like that?

I've got a story burning me up (not Rome) that I want to get out there, but I have no way to gauge if it will work in a comic book medium. Anyway, just looking for other things out there to see how they're doing.
