This sounds like an amazing service for children. Instead of wasting their parents' or allowance money on comics (and books and all) that they don't end up liking, they can experience 50 per month without it costing anyone anything more than the buck or so their library card was.

Even though Marvel's diversity agenda seems a bit rushed and overdone, I by and large support it... except in this one case.

When Captain America, whomever holds that title, goes home to his (or her) family, they don't say "Hey, Cap!" because that person has a name, and gets to be called it. Same for Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, Wolverine and any other TITLE that has been exchanged. Even being the Hulk is a title, only requiring that power.

Giving someone else the NAME of Thor is as ridiculous as if Amadeus Cho was suddenly Hercules instead of the Hulk. Thor isn't a title. He was born and NAMED Thor, by his FATHER. Give away the hammer, give away the power, sure. Thor, though, is the guy's birthright, his godly name. When he goes home, his friends say "Hey, Thor!" He doesn't hang up his "Captain Hammer" title when he sits down to eat, he is still Thor... Jane Foster, Mjolnir, and all the writers involved are guilty of identity theft. They have crushed this man, this hero, and stolen his life. He can't even use his own damn name anymore.

This woman, who knows the power is killing her, who has stolen the name of the man she loved, is flying around in joy as he has to mope around being called "Odinson." If you like this comic or not, imagine someone stealing your name, your job (that you loved), and there isn't jack you can do about it. That's the life of Thor, and Jane Foster is a criminal for that.

I hope we have a rivalry and fights between Squadron Supreme and The Ultimates. They're a very well matched team, definitely would be a real interesting war.

The Avengers comparison really needs to stop. That is usually a US based team. This is very obviously Marvel's answer to the Justice League; a team full of powerhouses (or the ultra rich) that is always ready for any threat, international or intergalactic. If the reviews keep this strong I could see them becoming Marvel's major league team.

I doubt we'll have 616 Logan back until Marvel can make movies about him. When they killed off Ultimates Wolverine they left him dead, and I see that happening here for years. Not to mention original Jean has stayed dead, and they have always been so linked.

Now with Laura in this role and Old Man Logan running around, those comics would both have to fail before a serious discussion occurred at Marvel to restore the original.

@mrblonde: Why would Gordon panic? The man is a veteran of the military and police force. He is probably more comfortable in this role than he is at peace.

Further, he is old enough that this acts as his mid life crisis moment, and suddenly getting to be a badass is probably the explanation for the flirtatious nature that you're detecting. He might feel young again.

Dear Marvel,

Releasing comics that take place in the new world (ANAD) created after your epic series meant to change everything (Secret Wars) completely ruins the momentum of the story. Even if it's a great last two comics, we already have the sequel. Please plan better next time.

AoU Quicksilver was obviously a plot device and little more; these characters shouldn't even be compared. He was a throw away to unite the team around a fallen ally.

And for good reason. It's hard to talk about DoFP without focusing on their Quicksilver. His Magneto breakout is probably going to stand as one of the most iconic comic movie moments of our time, and for good reason. It was amazing, the best speedster use by far. I dare them to top it, and I look forward to the attempt.

Oh man I forgot about this. I read a preview a while ago (I think on amazon) and thought it was really interesting. Thanks for the reminder, I'll pick it up from the beginning.

I've also never read a Judge Dredd comic. There are some good recommendations here, but I have an overall tone question:

Which of the two movies (if either do) presents an accurate representation of the character(s) and world?
