Leah, could feel the wild wind calling to her and she ran with it. Back at her home on La Push the wolves were free to run without being a threat or threatened by anyone but the city was so different, so loud, so crowded. Her paws hit pavement when they yearned for soil. She heard a loud unnatural roar behind her and knew the dominant female was behind her. She gave a wolfy grin and picked up speed, they would see who the true hunter would be.  The fire in her lungs merely encouraged her to push more and she took off like a bullet.

Freedom, freedom, freedom a voice chanted in her head. She felt a small zing go past her and man jogging nearby went down for a sudden nap. In her wolf state she couldn't comprehend tranqs but she knew that an attack had been launched at her. She turned around abruptly and the motor bike passed her by. She made a sharp turn to her left and was leaping through suburban backyard, shocking an old woman who had been weeding her garden and earning cheers from little children playing in the next yard.

Being inside oneself is always surreal and no matter how many times she went wolf it didn't get any easier but at the same time it always, always felt natural. Her sent was all over this house. She knew that and even though the sent of the other outsiders were around it too, she still felt it was her responsibility to show them who was the Alpha wolf. She went for the female than exuded dominance on the team. She clamped Holly's fat suit in her jaws and shook it back and forth till the stuffing ripped out of the seems. The gummy male wrapped himself about her like a python and she rolled over to crush his soft limbs under her. He winced and she took the oppurtunity to hit him with her paw, scratching at him in the process allowing her to wiggle free from his grip.

She charged out of the kitchen hot on the scent of the dominant one and stopped short of new prey. There in the receiving room was a boy and he had a new scent, a scent that didn't belong. She ran towards the group full speed. Holly ducked and rolled before realizing too late that Leah hadn't been targeting her.

Leah lunged at the boy, her mouth opened wide ready to tear some flesh.

The moon’s figure was beginning to take shape even the sun still sailed in the sky and Leah chose not to take any chances. She made her way to the basement towards a large cage. Magick and Crysta had taken it upon themselves to paint the concave walls with a meadow filled with rainbows and butterflies while the alien boy had painted the ceiling with the night sky. Leah stripped down to wear a silk robe, locked herself in and placed the key on a hook nearby. She rested upon throw pillows Holly had left in the cage and awaited the change.

She could feel her body humming, it was unsettling feeling like a million spiders were crawling under her skin. Then something went wrong. Leah spat blood as her canine incisors replaced her perfectly aligned teeth. A tail sprouted painfully out her end. She was jolted forward as her tail shot back into her body and a wolf ear took the place of her human ear. She cried from the sudden shock of it. The change was always painful but it was one fluid movement of pain, it didn’t come in rapid changes all over her body. She ran to the metal bars and made a grab for her phone that rested on the table nearby but just as her hand shot out to take it changed into a wolf’s paw knocking the phone out of her reach. She collapsed on the floor in frustration and her scream ended as a mournful howl as her mouth changed into a snout. The floor was decorated with splashes of blood caused by the transformation glitches. Her right arm changed into a wolf’s leg while her left leg changed, then they shifted into her human limbs at the same time her left arm and right leg changed. She was caught in a perpetual shifting state and it hurt like heck. She stared at the key longing to unlock the cage and go get help but she couldn’t risk herself in the state she was in. She was in too much pain to control the wolf within and she could feel it rising to be set free. In one desperate attempt she ran head first into the stone wall. On an ordinary human this could have ended in a deadly blow but it merely knocked Leah out. Even in her unconscious state her body changed but slower this time but ever one in a while she’d wince and cry out in her dreams.

Back at the HQ, Leah was combating boredom. She had never wished to cross paths with the Outsiders yet here she was again. Some insane hunter had chased her back into Holly Cross's life and much as she hated being with these people she'd rather be with them than have her body mounted and stuffed in some gun toting maniac's living room. Her class ended earlier that day so she sat in her room typing out the beginnings of a reaction paper for her Philosophy class but every now and then she's switch tabs to open her page on Facebook.
An tiny bell sounded and she opened a tab to find her mother had sent her an email, she must have been desperate to find her, her mother was completely illiterate with computers.

My dearest: Leah,

Where are you, my darling? Sam and Emily's wedding is next week. I had sent you at least two invitations but they all came back stamped, "return to sender". Your dean informed me that you had moved applied for a transfer. How could you do this without telling any of us? I'm not angry Leah. I just want to know where my baby girl is. Please come to the wedding. Be happy for your cousin, Emily you two used to be so close. Don't let her think you're still bitter

With love,
Mom

Leah, glared at the message before deleting it without replying. Come to the wedding? let Emily know she wasn't bitter? but she was bitter! Darn Emily for coming to visit and taking away the love of her life. Darn Sam for tossing her aside for her prettier cousin. She took a miserable look at her surroundings. Her room was filled with moving boxes stacked high to the
ceiling. She kept promising herself she'd unpack soon but couldn't bring herself to get around to it. So there she was propped up on her elbows, lying on a naked mattress playing mafia wars like some kind of anti-social whatever. She looked out her window where a pink and orange sky told her night was coming and the rising of a new moon would not bode well for her.

She snatched her phone from the night stand and dialed Holly Cross, she got her answering machine, "Hey, Cross get over here soon, unless you want to find an angry wolf and a destroyed house when you get home"

Leah's body was a little achey but not so she couldn't sit up. So she sat up, she felt a little concious with all the superheroes in the room. She came to the city to escape the weirdness of her life back home only to run into more weirdness. Anita or Holly as everyone seemed to be calling her seemed so completely at ease with all the boys as if she had control over every situation and the boys were actually listening to her.

"Or...maybe i could track him" she said shyly touching a finger to her nose.

She didn't quite understand what was going on, maybe Holly was trying to arrest an internet sex predator or something.

Leah was left in the Holly's room. Some girl was clicking away at the computer completely absorbed, ignoring Leah. Mother always said computer games rot your brain Leah shrugged and went downstairs knowing no one would mind if she got herself a glass of water. She ended up in the living room by accident and there was this strange man staring straight ahead. Leah followed his gaze but found only wallpaper.

"Hi" she greeted him

silence

Then like out of no where this huge not even big more like ginourmous bird came out of no where and crashed through the window. It looked like a pretty parrot if it weren't for its size and the fire in its eyes.

"Big bird! somebody! big bird!" but no one else was in the house but the girl absorbed with the game. Oh, I hate it when I have to do this Leah thought before she yanked off all her clothes and morphed. Her mouth stretched forward into a snout and her body curled till she had to get down on all fours a long tail swished behind her and she could feel herself growing about half the size of the giant parrot. In the living room in the place of the young native american girl was a large gray wolf. The parrot reached a large golden claw at the quiet man and Leah Launched at it with her teeth. She tore off a chunk of the bird but its flesh dissolved in her mouth. The bird had a great big hole at it's leg but instead of muscles and bone Leah saw what looked like a tv set when the cable isn't paid. The bird turned its attention to Leah and snapped at her with its beak. She ran about the room but couldn't manouver the bird cornered her and clamped its large beak on her tail. Leah howled unwillingly but the bird wasn't through it whirled her around and smashed her down on the coffee table. She felt a sharp whack to her head and blacked out.

The next thing Leah knew Holly was in the room talking to some guy.

Leah stayed against the far wall rubbing a hand up and down. It was so different working with a team that had to talk to each other. Back home it was a lot easier, you just had to catch a thought pattern to formulate a plan.

Leah's hearing was very good but that didn't change the fact she couldn't understand what was going on. Who would've thought that killing vampires would have been less bizarre compared to moving to a new city and meeting new friends. She looked to the new faces around her unsure of what to do.
