    Someone is killing off Gotham's mob bosses, and Batman keeps arriving too late to prevent the murders. Meanwhile, Boss Zucco is up for parole, and Alfred Pennyworth pleads with the parole board not to let him free. Nightwing returns to Gotham, having heard that Batman's sanity is eroding, and sets off in search of his mentor .

    Tim got a post card from his parents, they were on a trip in the Caribbean. Unknown to him, their plane was forced down and they were captured by a local tribe. Their pilot was killed immediately to show them they were serious. A man calling himself the Obeath Man held them. The news reached Gotham City; Tim was devastated.

    Janet and Jack Drake have been taken captive by the Obeah Man and being held for ransom. Batman is on the trail of the culprits and figuring out who has taken them. How will Tim Drake react to his parents being taken?
