Starbreaker Respect Thread

Origin and History
Starbreaker was a being that existed before the Universe itself. He was known by many names and was considered to be a Cosmic Vampire because of his ability to absorb the energy of planets, stars, and even galaxies. Mostly he controls the gravitational pull of those planets and slams them into their own Sun, unleashing vast amounts of energy and absorbing it. At some point, he found out that he could absorb a lot of energy from negative emotions of other living beings. This turned him into one of the most powerful beings in the Universe.

He also stated that he is an adult version of the Sun Eater, beings that consume Stars.

After he was finally killed, Dharma stated that death is less than a final for someone like Starbreaker.

This led to a confrontation with the Justice League of America. Starbreaker tried to destroy the planet Earth by colliding it with it's Sun, but he was stopped by the JLA and was imprisoned by the Guardians of the Universe.
===========================================================================
Eventually he escaped and became the rules of Maxima's world Almerac.

However, Starbreaker was stopped once again and was almost completely drained.

Eventually he was found by the Wing Commander of Thanagar's Imperial Fleet, Sh'ri Valkyr, who considered herself to be a Herald of Starbreaker and she worshiped him as the Ultimate Force of the Universe. Thanagar's spies informed Valkyr of Zeta Beam technology, the Omega Beam device that can transport unlimited amounts of energy, allowing Starbreaker to absorb all of it and become the Universe itself. Knowing this, Valkyr send two Bounty Hunters to find the Omega Device, but the only thing they were able to find was a Zeta-Beam Module. But because he knew that Starbreaker will find the Omega Device eventually, Sardath, one of the elders of the planet Rann and father in law to the super hero Adam Strange, made it look like Rann was destroyed because their Sun was going Super Nova. Without Rann, there will be no Omega Device, and Starbreaker won't be able to use it for himself, while Sardath teleported Rann and it's inhabitants into the dead Universe with no life and used the Omega Device to create another Star for teleported Rann.

==================================================================
When Starbreaker found out about this thanks to Valkyr, he was teleported to new Rann system and started to absorb the new Sun to recharge his energies while Valkyr steals the Omega Device.

=======================================================
However, Valkyr was killed by Alanna Strange (Adam Strange's wife and Sardath's daughter) and were teleported to their original Universe along with Rann and it's new Star, with Starbreaker being left in the dead Universe without energies to absorb.

Eventually, Starbreaker was teleported back to New Earth/main DC Universe by Carl Sands, Shadow Thief.

He tried to absorb the power of Dharma and get revenge on the Justice League, but thanks to the combined power of Earth's heroes, he was drained of most of his energies and was killed by Paladin, the alternate version of Bruce Wayne. However, Dharma knew that Starbreaker will eventually come back.

Powers and Abilities
Starbreaker is one of the most powerful beings in the Universe. While he does not fall into the category of ridiculously powerful beings who can warp reality, he is still one of the most powerful non Skyfather level characters. He proved time and time again to be capable of beating teams of most powerful heroes of Earth and beyond, like the Justice League. In other words, he is a Teambuster, capable of absorbing unlimited amounts of energies and having the potential to become even more powerful if he absorbs more energy. He was so powerful, he was able to kill Dharma, a being who can hold realities together (however the fight happened off panel so we don't know how impressive the feat actually is).

- Energy Absorption
- Energy Manipulation
- Energy Projection
- Gravity Manipulation
- Superhuman Strength
- Superhuman Reflexes
- Invulnerability

- Bio-Fission
- Size Manipulation
- Flight
- Teleportation
- Dimensional Travel
- Interstellar Travel

- Telepathy Resistance
- Energy Tracking
- Time Manipulation
Strength and Striking Power
Starbreaker doesn't have a ton of strength/striking power feats. Actually he has like only one strength feat and the rest are just striking power feats, and even those are limited in number. However, that is because he mostly relies on his energy manipulation which is incredibly powerful already. That being said, when he wants to strike someone, those can still be incredibly effective.

Way weaker clone of Starbreaker easily overpowers Silver Age Hawkman.
==============================================================
Casually shatters the ice durable enough to hold Silver Age versions of Barry Allen, Aquaman and Oliver Queen, while weakened. Feat is probably stupid but it is still there LOL.

Durability/Invulnerability
Starbreaker is pretty much invulnerable, getting hurt only when his energy was separated in multiple weaker bodies/clones or when he was drained of most of his energy. He can tank blows and energy attacks of DC's strongest powerhouses without taking any damage.
==================================================================
Even tho he was weakened, Starbreaker did not take any damage from Silver Age Aquaman throwing ice at his face.
===========================================================================
He did not take any damage from Blue Beetle's punch.

===========================================================
A clone of Starbreaker who is way way weaker than the original did not even feel the punch from Silver Age Hawkman.
==========================================================================
While weakened and drained of most of his energies, he still tanked a punch from Silver Age Hawkman.

Get buried under a huge chunk of rocks and is fine. But for some reason it holds him for few minutes LOL.

==========================================================================
This is probably the most impressive showing of durability for Starbreaker. After Zatanna was prepared to unleash one of her most powerful spells to kill Starbreaker, which weakens her after being used because it unleashes all of her power, Starbreaker tanked it without much trouble (even tho he was hurt, but he didn't show any signs of being hurt), even tho Zatanna stated that the spell should erase him from existence.

Energy Absorption/Empowerment
Like I said before, Starbreaker is a cosmic vampire who absorbs the energy to empower himself. Mostly he manipulates the gravitational pull of planets to collide them with their stars in order to destroy them and unleash absorbed energy, or absorb stars themselves. He can also empower himself by feeding on negative emotions of other sentient beings, such as fear or aggression. That is why he mostly destroys planets with sentient beings on them. Therefor he will not only absorb the energy of destroyed planet but he will also empower himself with fear of it's inhabitants.

Energy Manipulation and Projection
Starbreaker can't just absorb energy, he can unleash it as well as manipulate it. He is not limited to his own energy manipulation. He can manipulate other energies even before absorbing them. He often uses it in combat by shooting powerful blasts of energy at his opponents.
- One shots Hal Jordan's Construct (Justice League of America #29 - Star Struck!)
- Fires multiple energy blasts at the same time (Justice League of America #98 - No More Tomorrows!; The Woman Who Wanted the World!; The Three Comets!)
- One shots Silver Age Superman with the blast of red sun radiation (Justice League of America #98 - No More Tomorrows!; The Woman Who Wanted the World!; The Three Comets!)
- Does the same to Post-Crisis Superman (Justice League of America #29 - Star Struck!)
- Creates omnidirectional energy blast that stops the attack of JLA members and throws them backwards (Justice League of America #29 - Star Struck!)
- Damages/cracks John Stewart's construct (Justice League of America #32 - Welcome to Sundown Town Chapter 4: Nyctophobia)
- Fires energy blast at John's construct and Icon, shots at John again, hurts Vixen via energy blast and one shots John's construct while weakened (Justice League of America #34 - Welcome to Sundown Town Conclusion: The Dharma Initiative)
==========================================================================
- Hurts Darkstars with his energy blast (Adam Strange #8 - Planet Heist - Part Eight)
- Attacks Maxima. She was seen KO'd at the end of the issue (Justice League America #63 - Almerac or Bust)
- Hurts Post-Crisis Superman (Justice League America #64 - The Revenge of Starbreaker)
- Fires energy blast at Ice and Blue Beetle (Justice League America #64 - The Revenge of Starbreaker)
- Hurts Silver Age Superman (Justice League of America #96 - "The Coming of--Starbreaker!"; The Origin of "Tick-Tock" Tyler The Hourman; "The Monkey's Circle!")
- KOs or kills a random fodder and makes a ship explode (Justice League of America #97 - The Day the Earth Screams!)
- Stops the attack of three most powerful JLA members (Justice League of America #97 - The Day the Earth Screams!)
- KOs Superman with a force of a Nova (Justice League America #64 - The Revenge of Starbreaker)
When it comes to energy manipulation feats...
- Uses his energy to grab and open a ship (Justice League of America #97 - The Day the Earth Screams!)
- His clones can create force fields to protect them from Ice's ice attack, Martian Manhunter/Bloodwynd's Martian Vision and Fire's energy attack (Justice League America #64 - The Revenge of Starbreaker)
- Traps Booster Gold in a force field (Justice League America #64 - The Revenge of Starbreaker)
- Casually blocks Firestorm's attack and uses his own energy to trap him in a force field after KOing him (Justice League of America #32 - Welcome to Sundown Town Chapter 4: Nyctophobia)
- Casually manipulates Post-Crisis Hal Jordan's constructs (Justice League of America #29 - Star Struck!)
- Again, this time against Silver Age Hal (Justice League of America #97 - The Day the Earth Screams!)
- And again (Justice League of America #96 - "The Coming of--Starbreaker!"; The Origin of "Tick-Tock" Tyler The Hourman; "The Monkey's Circle!")
===================================================================
Starbreaker also created blazing flames around Silver Age versions of Barry Allen, Aquaman and Oliver Queen and then making it disappear and then freezing them without hitting them with any ice attacks.
===========================================================================
Versatility and Hax
Aside from energy manipulating powers and physical stats, Starbreaker is extremely versatile and full of hax. He has a lot of crazy abilities, one of which is the ability to control the gravitational pull of other planets and slam them into their Sun. You know about it already. He did that countless times for millions of years. When it comes to on panel evidence, he did so to an unnamed planet, Almerac (when he was separated in three bodies) and Earth (Pre and Post Flashpoint).

- Source: Justice League America #64 - The Revenge of Starbreaker
- Source: Justice League of America #97 - The Day the Earth Screams!
- Source: Justice League of America #29 - Star Struck!
He can also create clones of himself and/or separate himself into multiple bodies. However, his other bodies are not as nearly as powerful as the original, so Starbreaker can't be at full power when he is separated. Most of the time he created two duplicates of himself the most.

He is also capable of Interstellar travel which allowed him to travel 25 trillion miles per second/seconds in order to come to Earth. He did that Pre-Crisis and was seen again during flashback in Post-Crisis continuity.
Source: Justice League of America #97 - The Day the Earth Screams!and Justice League of America #29 - Star Struck!
==================================================================
He can also teleported himself and others. He teleported his defeated clones back to him and his clones also teleported various members of the Justice League to different locations on the planet Almerac
Source: Justice League of America #96 - "The Coming of--Starbreaker!"; The Origin of "Tick-Tock" Tyler The Hourman; "The Monkey's Circle!" and Justice League America #64 - The Revenge of Starbreaker
================================================================
He also has telekinesis. He used it to stop and open a ship, lift skyscrapers and throw stuff at Silver Age Superman while being weakened. When he uses his telekinesis it looks like he is creating ropes/constructs composed of his energy to move those objects.
Source: Justice League of America #97 - The Day the Earth Screams! and Justice League of America #98 - No More Tomorrows!; The Woman Who Wanted the World!; The Three Comets!
==================================================================
He can also change his size without absorbing more energy.
Source: Justice League of America #97 - The Day the Earth Screams!
=========================================================
Starbreaker can resist telepathy. He forced Martian Manhunter/Bloodwynd to leave his mind.
Source: Justice League America #64 - The Revenge of Starbreaker
============================================================
Starbreaker also has the ability to send others through time and space, past and future. While this drains him of a lot of energy, he was able to send Silver Age versions of Black Canary, Hawkman and Hal Jordan into in a Central City during the year 972 A.D. and fight them, while sending Barry Allen, Aquaman and Oliver Queen to 30th Century version of Central City, in year 2972.
===========================================================================
Summary
Starbreaker definitely is a Teambuster, which he proved almost every time in his limited number of appearances. He is almost impossible to put down, he has impressive striking power, he has a lot of hax abilities, he is incredibly versatile and most characters who are using energy attacks will be done for if they fight against someone like Starbreaker. Also, fact that he is an adult version of Sun Eater probably means that he has the powers of Sun Eater and that their feats apply for Starbreaker as well. However, other Teambusters with a lot of hax that is not limited to energy based powers or the ones that are just out right incredibly strong can beat Starbreaker. Because of that, I don't think I should put him in a category of weaker or stronger Teambusters because on whether he will beat another Teambuster or not is based solely on their set of abilities and fighting style. Fact that he defeated Silver Age versions of Pre-Crisis heroes is ridiculous, but hard to calculate because of inconsistencies of Silver Age versions of DC powerhouses. Hope you enjoyed this respect thread and as always, there is more to come.
